This is probably my most anticipated film of the year.
I've been a huge Joy Division fan for years, and I've been following along with all the movies about JD and the Manchester scene since they were announced. Everything I've seen of Control-- from the stills to the trailer-- look absolutely gorgeous, but that's not surprising, coming from Anton Corbijn.
One thing that really fascinates me is that it's a rare biopic where the director actually knew the subject of the film... while Corbijn and Ian Curtis weren't dear friends, he's going to bring something to the project that very few directors could have; a certain kind of depth and authenticity.

I know his wife at the time has helped a great deal with the film. The most fucking annoying thing for me? The cinema's over here are advertising it, yet because I don't live in a city, none are actually showing it. Bastards.
