Iambaytor
These trailers reminded me a lot of 2012 and I Am Legend. I do not feel good about this yet.
Panch
Yeah... this is the zombie movie I've been waiting for.
Iambaytor
I'm gonna tuck that post away for whenever this comes out and is horrible.
Thrizzle
I got the 2012 vibe too. Not a good thing.

Iambaytor
And I'm gonna tuck this whole thread away for when its good. You're just giving me fodder at this point, don't make it worse.
Panch
What's bad about that trailer? Seriously? That shit looks epic! So its not a true adaptation of the book. So what? A TRUE adaptation of that book would suck ass! #truestory
Iambaytor
I saw a bunch of vaguely human CGI blobs rolling down a street, and then climbing a wall, and then a completely normal looking guy chased Brad Pitt onto a helicopter. Your definition of epic and mine are quite different. As are our tastes in... things apparently. A World War Z movie would kick ass if it stuck to the book. Lycaon
A World War Z movie would kick ass if it stuck to the book. Agreed. Unfortunately, it is less likely, with an "adaptation" of the book, especially one with the book's title as its name, already out there. Reverend Jax
The first trailer was heavy on action, this one puts some emphasis on story. Still not convinced it'll be good, just because of all the evidence out there that it won't be, but this trailer makes it look better than my most pessimistic predictions. Keth
I still haven't seen any zombies. It just looks like people are running from each other. This is one of those movies that me seeing it will depend on the rating. So far it looks very PG-13 I am Legendy
Reverend Jax
So, if it's PG-13 with a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, you won't see it, but if it's rated R with 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, you'll be first in line?

The NZA
Brad Pitt's 'World War Z' $200 Million Production Nightmare Exposed Incomplete script, an incoherent ending, massive re-shoots, millions of dollars in budget overages, and even a Hungarian SWAT team raid are apparently just a few of the issues plaguing Pitt's troubled production "It was, like, wow. The ending of our movie doesn't work," Evans recalled after watching a director's cut of the blockbuster hopeful. "I believed in that moment we needed to reshoot the movie." ...yikes
crimsonfire
World War Z I thought it was a really good solid action flick. It was nice to see the zombie genre taken into a global context and a protagonist who is actually important in terms of solving the problem. Not to belittle the survival theme in zombie stuff because I love it. This was just a welcome change of scope. I was a little baffled by the stream of people saying it was "better than expected". Am I the only one who thought it was going to be awesome from day one?
the division of joy
Well, having heard disparaging things about it from fellow book readers and thinking little of the trailor or two I saw, it blew my low expectations out of the water. I pretty much went in with the mindset that it will be little like the books. Brad Pitt really did an incredible job with this. His acting carried the film really really well, and overall, it was really quite fantastic. And better than I expected
FireDownBelow
<grumble> I like the book and I dislike very much that a movie that has litle to do with the plot bears to same name. I know it's stupid and petty to base my decision for not watching the film on this, but that's how I feel. Meh.
the division of joy
As a fan of the book, I say get over it. The film is fantastic.
Thrizzle
They should have called it something else. Absolutely anything else.
the division of joy
You could start saying similar of The Walking Dead these days. Either way, I really enjoyed both the film and the book.
Thrizzle
I could totally have that argument, but I need to see the movie first.
the division of joy
But I would prefer to argue with someone who hasn't seen it... Having a fair idea that the movie and the book would likely not meet much in terms of material, I walked into the cinema very open minded. Yeah, they could've not called it what they called it, but it was what it was.
FireDownBelow
Yes, but if someone calls something a duck, well sir, I expect it to waddle and quack
the division of joy
And what I'm saying is they could've called the film happy happy fun time adventure place, and I'd have still enjoyed it. Fact is, the movie people bought the rights to the book and therefore the name and there is nothing much to be done about it other than bitch about that.
