The NZA Posted August 10, 2016 Share Posted August 10, 2016 David Fincher in 'early talks' to direct World War Z 2 Sources have told Variety that Pitt, along with Paramount and Skydance, is in talks with David Fincher to direct the sequel to his 2013 smash hit. According to sources, Fincher and Pitt met two weeks ago to discuss the possibility of Fincher boarding the zombie tentpole. The talks were initially lukewarm but sources now tell Variety negotiations are much further down the road and no one else currently has the offer to direct. And while I think a decent movie can be made based off the book, it wouldn't be nearly as good as a tv series. I keep forgetting about the audiobook though, which is so damn good that really all of this talk is unnecessary because that's the best adaptation there is. Mark Hammill is the soldier from Yonkers, Henry Rollins is the Bodyguard... there's a tone more in there. It's like listening to a radio play.
