Reverend Jax
it's 18th of December, don't know about Europe though. I'm gonna be in Mexico. Hope it's released down their same time. They do that sometimes with major releases.
soldier of fortune
Read the hobbit this week, whilst aimed at kids more so, its still a good read, and gives more insight into Bilbo, and his adventures, with the Ring. good read too. 18/19 who cares, its more than likely a same time release all over the world surely! Whats the release date on Matrix Reloaded. Oh and i bough the Godfather DVD trilogy! Excellent!!

Reverend Jax
I don't know why The Hobbie would be considered more geared towards children than LOTR. I mean it's shorter and any of the other three books, basically LOTR is five to six times longer than The Hobbit. But other than that, it didn't seem to me like it was more geared towards children. It's not like LOTR has any graphic sex scenes. Well, maybe the European Editions do....
soldier of fortune
I just mean that its less dark and dreary, more pleasant tale than LOTR, its good, yeah. And Jack to disappoint you, but no graphic sex scenes in the European edition! Its just my opinion. Anyway, Tolkien originally wrote it for his kids!! Silent Bob
Actually, he wrote all of them for his kids, didn't he? They just got older in between the time he wrote The Hobbit and the LOTR bunch. Guess that's why LOTR is a bit more mature of a story. Reverend Jax
I thought the Hobbits was just as dark, but I read the Hobbit before LOTR, maybe it has like this darkness progression that if you read The Hobbit afterwards it seemed out of place. *Hobbit Spoiler Ahead* The spider killing scene in The Hobbit was wicked badass! Reverend Jax
I hope the movie doesn't screw gollum up. I wish they had opted to do the four books as four movie instead of just the trilogy.

Reverend Jax
Have you noticed that the new harry potter movie has a character (dobby, I think) that looks a bit like gollum?
