Guest Yahve Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Yoda is the man, but Morpheus can download the force and beat yoda at his own game hehe. its plain unfair.... tho if gandalf survives an initial blitz attack, he may have a shot as well Quote
Silent Bob Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Oh, c'mon, Morpheus' katana against Yoda's...uh...light-dagger? I don't think that's much of a fight. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 6, 2002 Author Posted September 6, 2002 If you don't even the playing feild by giving em both similar sword, it's all yoda (what kind of defense is a katana against a lightsaber?). I have to say the way Morphues handle the Matrix gives him the edge. Quote
DevilsAdvoc8 Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 YODA. If Morpheus can "download" the force (which is fuckin' IMPOSSIBLE) Yoda gets a lightsaber and even if Morpheus had one he'd have to know how to use like and 800 year old Jedi MASTER whick he don't. However Morpheus should play Optimus Prime you know cause the MATRIX and all. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 6, 2002 Author Posted September 6, 2002 You can't really download the force, but the ability to bend and break the rules of the matrix is like the ability to use the force. Quote
Silent Bob Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Well, that's all assuming that they're fighting in the Matrix. Why would Yoda be plugged into the Matrix? I agree with DA8. Morpheus against Optimus Prime. Now that'd be a fight. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 8, 2002 Author Posted September 8, 2002 Oh no, the conversation has turned to Transformers, we've passed the point of no return. Sigh...what about Megatron versus Krang in his huge Godzilla-sized monster form? Quote
The NZA Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 Yup, this thread went to shit with one bad joke. Cmon, you fanboys, yeah yeah he's old and shit, but he's a goddamn muppet and looks fuckin silly with a saber, nevermind he couldnt beat Duku who artistic pointed out was just some fat white guy. You wait till Matrix Reloaded, then everyone's back here cryin to change their votes. 'Sides, who'd ya rather have as a mentor? Yoda'd make you lift logs with your mind, Morpheus has ya sparring, checkin out women in red, etc. Quote
Silent Bob Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 Yeah, but Yoda's advice usually makes more sense. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 8, 2002 Author Posted September 8, 2002 Both good points (Bob and IC), but while it's true Yoda couldn't bet Duku, Duku couldn't bet Yoda either, and Duku ran away. Duku got what he wanted by escaping, and Yoda failed by not keeping him from escaping, but in a fight where neither opponent defeats the other and one runs away, I call the runner-awayer the loser, and the stayer-right-therer the winner. Quote
The NZA Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 Eh, i guess. I just think the teacher - a 600 year old muppet - shouldve been able to stop fatass Duku from gettin away's all. Yoda's got good advice, but youve heard him a lot more, lets give Reloaded a chance. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 9, 2002 Author Posted September 9, 2002 Whoever said they're not giving Reloaded a chance? It's just that we give credit based on accomplishment. I mean you can give an award to a 75 year old man for working his whole life towards curing cancer, or you can yell out in the ceremony "don't give that award to that man, there's some 12 year old kid here with the potential to do even better than him in the future!" The Matrix may give Star Wars a real run for it's money when the trilogy is complete, but until then let's give credit where credit is due. Quote
DevilsAdvoc8 Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 DAMN STRAIGHT. YODA. And by the way Dooku got away cause that's what Yoda wanted...how do you think he expected to track down the true...shit boys here it comes...how do you think Yoda planned to track down the TRUE PHANTOM MENACE. Quote
Silent Bob Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 Heh, that was bad, DA8. Y'know, I wish Lucas had put a little more effort into the story. Why set up something as mysterious as a "phantom menace" when everyone in the audience already knows who it is, anyway? He could have set it up so there were at least SOME surprises. Quote
DevilsAdvoc8 Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 Well regardless thems is the facts and facts is facts. Quote
The NZA Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 So Jax is sayin reward the 75 year odl man with good intentions, rather than the better of the two. While Bob is askin for the premise of episdoe 1 to be rewritten to a mystery to fit the bad title, and DA's just a fanboy. Fuck, i wish arc would come back. Quote
soldier of fortune Posted September 10, 2002 Posted September 10, 2002 That begs the question, what was the point of doing a prequel trilogy at all, was so fan boys like DA8 could cum in there pants at the announcement, and at the site of Jar Jar Binks!? Quote
Silent Bob Posted September 11, 2002 Posted September 11, 2002 Or maybe it was just to make a shitload of more money, and see how much we can replace actors with badly integrated cgi. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted September 11, 2002 Author Posted September 11, 2002 IC, I'm saying that Star Wars already accomplished the Great Epic, and even though lucas is tainting the memory, doesn't mean I'm dethroning it when one movie comes along. I'm not going to say The Matrix is a better trilogy than Star Wars based on the first and only Matrix movie I've seen. And as far as surprises in The SW prequels, I was surprised when Yoda whipped it out. Wasn't expecting that at all. Oh wait, am I thinking of Epi2 or that Star Wars themed porno I saw? Quote
