Kevin Smith, writer and director of 'Clerks,' 'Zach and Miri Make a Porno,' was kicked off a Southwest Airlines plane after he was ejected from the flight for being "too fat to fly" by the pilot.

According to LA Times, he had just finished a speech at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, and was set to fly from Oakland to Burbank.

"I'm way fat, but I'm not there just yet," he wrote in his Twitter.com page. "I broke no regulation."

Southwest Airlines measures whether a customer is too large to fly based on the passenger's ability to lower both armrests while sitting on the plane. If this cannot be done, the passenger must purchase another seat, or purchase tickets for a different flight. Southwest also gave him a $100 voucher for his inconvenience. Smith wrote also in his Twitter that there was another passenger next to him that was also "chastised for not buying an additional seat."

Smith is expected to address the issue on his podcast tonight. He eventually got to Burbank on a different flight.

I know the dude is big, but c'mon :)
