Keth
7 pounds was pretty fuckin awful. My thought was "ok a will smith movie with lots of hype. there has got to be aliens/monsters somewhere in there" WRONG!
La Lindsay
that's because those are good movies, sir. LL fell asleep during Infernal Affairs, too. well past the age of 7. this is not a cinematic litmus test. it was 4 in the morning, you circadian deviant! Reverend Jax
The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain Ah, come on, that movie wasn't that bad. Also... dont forget the "im so atheist, i cant even enjoy a king movie that fictionally refutes atheism!" man, if the RZA shows up & dies in Boondock Saints II, i hope i can allow myself to enjoy the movie still. Yeah, because I've NEVER liked a movie with God or fantasy elements in it before. That movie was a color-by-numbers, boring-as-painting-grass-and-watching-it-dry-as-the-grass-grows, cliched horror-thriller crapfest. I've seen porno movies plots less predictable that 1408. The NZA
LL: you'll notice you didnt pass out during Ichi the Killer. OH WHO'S THE DEVIANT NOW MISSY?! Jax: I'm gonna have to assume a broad once left your for Cusack. that, and i declare your taste in horror to be awful. please refute this by naming horror films of note that you enjoyed, despite the genre's inability to unnerve your great bravery/circumvent your mighty skepticism. Iambaytor
I would assume he only likes Horror movies where it all turns out to be a dream because they support his beliefs. So Jacob's Ladder and April Fools Day for him. I also share Lindsay's feelings on Kevin Costner with 2 notable examples: Open Range was good despite him, and Mr. Brooks was fucking amazing and he managed to actually be interesting during it. I guess this depends on what you consider 'horror.' If the first Alien movie is horror, I like that movie alot (you definitely couldn't call any of the sequels 'horror'). What I've seen of Hitchcock (I need to see more) I've liked. If you consider zombie movies horror, I liked the Dawn of the Dead remake, but thought the Day of the Dead remakes was garbage. I liked The Omega Man. As far as how well something ages and withstands the test of time, I think the Twilight Zone might be the greatest TV show of all time. I dug the half dozen Tales from the Crypt episodes I saw back in the day. The first Shining movie was ok (though it hasn't aged well). The US version of The ring was definitely good by horror standards, and OK by general movie standards (I've heard the original Japanese version is better and I have no reason to doubt that). The Scream movies were passable guilty pleasures in their day, the film equivalent of empty calories. Slashers tend to be bad because they're usually cheap to make and make money with or without decent characters or acting or anything like that. Does Thriller count as 'horror'. I like Thriller. Also, I really, really liked Identity. A great movie by any standard. In fact, it was only because I liked Identity so much that I gave 1408 a chance despite my sage-like misgivings about it (Identity also starred John Cusack). I like Cusack. He's usually likable even if the movie he's in isn't that great. Looking at his imdb page, I've seen 11 movies with him, 5 of which I own. 1408 is the only one I've ever disliked, though I'd probably dislike Must Love Dogs, Serendipity and 2012 if I ever saw them. John Cusack has not done well in 4 digit numerically titled movies, in my estimation. But even in 1408, I didn't dislike Cusack, I disliked the movie. Dag
I strongly suggest you watch the room. For a budget of 7 million, its horrifically horrific. Dude, I saw Battlefield Earth, IN THE THEATER! 100 million dollars pissed away on arguably the worst movie of all time. I shudder just remembering that night. Dag
Oh Gawd Not Battlefield Earth! I hated the Planet of the Apes remake ewwwww. Star Wars eps 1,2 and 3 anyone? All bad movies. I didn't like the Planet of the Apes remake, but Star Wars Episode One upset me tremendously (two and three were okay).
The NZA
ill be honest; 3 was supposed to pay off, so 3 bothered me more than ep 1. and Battlefield Earth is fantastic just for existing & lending itself to Rifftrax so well.

Choose Life
Presumably, that's the first one, "The Fast And The Furious," right? Cause the last one was just called "Fast And Furious" without any 'the's. I'm pretty sure the Sex and the City movie qualifies as the worse movie I've seen in the past 2 years, but 1408 gives it a run for it's money. Yes, i was referring to the first one. I was actually unaware there even was a 3rd one. Wasn't the second entitled "2 fast too furious"?
amynicole
I love scary movies but don't watch them often as I get panic attacks, so occasionally I'll get bombed off Xanax and be able to watch one, so I'm excited. It was so lame!
