We know for a fact Emma Frost was deconfirmed and Seth(dipshit) stated that there will be NO MORE Darkstalker characters (bang goes Hsien-Ko), but with the revelations of X-23(blegh), Tron(meh) and Wesker(WOOT!) it may be worth noting in the future. Otherwise, fake list with some VERY good guesses.

Niitsuma gets drunk and confirms She-Hulk.

 

About 8 minutes into this stream from San Diego Comic-Con, Niitsuma-San answered questions from fans. Doing something that is usually uncharacteristic for a video game developer, he bluntly told fans that the following characters would NOT be in Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Phoenix Wright, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Daredevil, Emma Frost, and Gene from Godhand.

 

Mix this heartbreaking news with a player’s story on SRK, where he said Seth Killian told him that one character between She-Hulk, Daredevil, and Phoenix Wright would be in MvC3. If this is true, that means She-Hulk will be in MvC3.

Man the X-23 hate is painful, great character and never expected to see her in the game. Looks like she plays kinda a cross between Wolvie and Vega, and sans Strider (as it appears to be now) it'll be nice having an slice your shit up while moving at ridiculous speeds character. Still, can't believe that this is the first chick announced for the Marvels. Marvel's side is a total sausage fest right now.

• Arthur has all the attacks and specials he had in the original Ghost 'n Goblins games.

 

• Spider-man is the first character they're showing who will have alternate costumes. Iron Spider, Symbiote Spidey, and the new Spider-Man costume from the upcoming "Big Time" comics.

 

• The plot of the game is that Doctor Doom, with the help of Wesker, has assembled a team of villains together that could destroy both Capcom and Marvel's worlds. As such, it's a "Battle that will decide the fate of two worlds." i.e. Fate of Two Worlds.

 

• The lead battle designer for MvC3 is the same person from Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

 

• There could be a Marvel Super Heroes 2 if there was enough requests for one, but currently there are no plans. This is a pretty standard answer that Capcom gives, though.

 

• New game modes will be announced once more characters are revealed.

 

• Marvel will officially announce two new characters on their side at the Comic-Con panel tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:45 a.m. EST tomorrow. This is likely Magento and M.O.D.O.K who were accidentally leaked.

The following was supposedly a leak that was deleted by high ups ASAP.

"First off, Capcom is doing an INCREDIBLE job at keeping this game close to their chest. I don't know much, but what I DO know I'll be more than glad to tell you. No, I don't work for Capcom, and neither do any friends or relatives -- but there are other outlets in the industry for this sort of information.

 

42 is indeed the magic number for playable characters.

 

DLC characters won't be happening, but Capcom is being tight-lipped on this for the time being. If the game launches as successfully as planned, you can definitely expect a significant retail update within a year including a handful of new characters.

 

March 22 is the tentative North American release date for the time being with Europe and Japan coming soon after. This can -- and probably will -- change, but development ends in February.

 

Starting in November, a new character will be revealed on a weekly basis on Capcom-Unity, Marvel.com and the Japanese site all the way until early March. There will be a Holiday break in late December/early January without any updates.

 

I know you guys like specifics, so I'll leave you with the "good stuff."

My thoughts:

Thanos. As long as he does NOT have any infinity gem based powers/supers, better moves. I'm Happy. The whole Infinity gauntlet fiasco is dead and over. He has SOOOOO much more going for him. He's like Doom on steroids. (still bummed Doom didn't get any magic powers again).

In short, He needs a new move set.

 

Red Arremer was in SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos as a hidden boss. If he's half as good as he was when SNK made him, he'll be awesome. Plus, one of my wishlist characters made it!

 

Howard makes sense if Man-Thing is to be in an ending and he could be way more fun than X-23 as far as I'm concerned.

 

Bison. I'll be honest, I was hoping for Bilstien (Plasma Sword) over him, but as everyone cannot get over Street Fighter 2, I'm not surprised.

 

Mike F'n Haggar! About damn time! Final Fight has been one of Capcom's so called "big names" and we've yet to see them outside of the Street Fighter franchise. (and Slam masters for those that remember that awesome wrestling game)

 

Mega Man and Zero are always welcome.

 

Spider-Woman. I'm assuming Jessica Drew, apart from the name she (power wise) has nothing to do with Spider-Man. Bio-Electric blasts, Flight, Pheromone generation and a HYDRA/SHIELD agent. No web powers. The complete opposite of X-23.

 

She-Hulk. Hulk with boobs, faster, more combo friendly. see X-23.

 

Ms. Marvel. Marvel's Wonder Woman. Now we're talking. Flight, Super Strength & Energy manipulation. She-Hulk with projectiles and (hopefully) other energy based tricks.

 

Storm. Finally a likable X-(Wo)Man. (other than Magneto)

 

Venom well depends on if it's Brock or Gargen. If Gargen, I'd like to see a new move set reflecting his more brutal, cannibalistic nature.

 

Shuma Gorath and Strider. I would like to see some new moves. Other than that, I am glad that they're back.

 

Viper and West we've known about for quite awhile.

Howard should make everyone happy, IF he's real. I mean Howard the Duck AND Red Arremar? Either Capcom's been reading my diary or that's fake. Still like to see Sentinel, Juggernaut, and Blackheart, and maybe Maximo as an alternate costume for Arthur. Still bummed about Gene and Ghost Rider (just take him off the bike, he spends a lot of time off the thing these days anyway) but otherwise this is shaping up nicely. Could really use some Captain Commando up in this bitch, though. Fucka some C. Viper. (Maybe he'll be a secret character)

Blaidd pointed out an image, which may show Mike Haggar's 3D model in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

This picture was taken from the official Capcom-Unity site where various staff members were showing off their 2010 Halloween costumes, and this image clearly shows a 3D model of some sort for Haggar, although it's not obvious which game it's for at this point.

 

Readers are already speculating that this is for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 though, as the design looks similar to the other character models.

 

Adding further fuel to the fire, it looks like Capcom removed the picture from the gallery, although a direct link to the image still works.
