Natural Selection stated off as a mod for Half life in 2002 where it recieved critical acclaim for its numerous innovations in the FPS genre.

Its basically a blend of multiplayer FPS and RTS in a Sci-Fi envoronment, so basically it's fucking awesome!

It's like playing Aliens vs Predator with some Dead Space and Star Craft thrown in.

The main object of the game is to wipe out the other team (the 2 teams being Marines and Aliens). You do this by upgrading your weapons and armor/building more hives and evolving. To become stronger you have to collect resources(res) for you team. res points are spred through out the map and caturing and holding these points (by building a res tower) is key to victory. The more res towers you have the faster you get points.

The two teams are very different to each other. There is alot involved with these two teams so i'll try and keep it as basic as possible.

On the Marines team, one player chooses to be the commander by entering the comm chair (basically it gives you an 2D perspective of the map, like in a RTS) the commander can drop buildings for the other players to build, he also manages all the res points, upgrades and send orders to the team. Marines use long range weapons and are very poor at short range attacks, they are also loud when the move about. But marines can get trip mines and motion trackers as some of thier upgrades.

The Aliens on the other hand work alone a bit more, res points are given individually to each player and they can evolve themselves with basic armor and attack upgrades or change into a different alien (just like pokemons!) Aliens have 5 classes each one which has its pros and cons. Aliens have a building class called "gorge" The gorge has shitty attack and moderate defence but its the key to Alien victory. Gorges can build chambers for upgrades and new hives for more abilities.

most of that probably didn't make any sense to anyone the game is easy to play but hard to master like any good game. You should probably look it up on wiki for a better explanation.

So here is some more vids to help me explain.
