The NZA
yesssssssssss Release Date: December 14th What Is It?: 12-14 Unreleased Tracks recorded by The King of Pop Background: After nearly a year and a half of rumors and false reports, Epic Records have finally announced plans for their first collection of posthumous Michael Jackson material—though most details remain frustratingly unclear. What's known for sure is that the album will be called Michael and will be released on December 14. A teaser for the project will be posted on MichaelJackson.com on Friday, and on Monday, a full song from the album called "Breaking News" will stream on the site for one week. Tracklist: "Breaking News" Producer(s): Eddie Cascio thoughts: 1) i love the MJ bollywood/montage covers (see Dangerous) 2) i'm a bit worried about stuff being "finished" after the loss of the king, but a fan pointed this out: "Smooth Criminal" was a song that almost didn't make it into the Bad album. With the final decision to include the song, Jackson originally decided to make the music video a western-styled short film. However, he later decided to change the style into a 1930s nightclub style. pretty crazy, huh? he was such a perfectionist towards the end of his career, so i'm expecting at least as much quality here as was on Invincible. teaser: <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF9f6Hyx0tY?fs=1&hl=en_US"> also: prince symbolism? Mr. Hakujin
Wow. That's either the worst album cover art in history . . . or the greatest.
The NZA
again though, it's at least closer in spirit than say Invincible's cover, i mean, look at this classic: MJ dug the busy bollywood covers, you know? and you sure can't say its over the top after the HIStory one, heh. The NZA
1st single "Breaking News" is up - not bad, its overproduced by that was the case for much of Invincible too. it's also obvious there's backup singers about (prolly unfinished) but MJ at its core. nothing exceptional, hoping for stronger tracks on the album proper but not disappointing either. again, it blows my mind thinking about stuff he's thrown away...Sunset Driver is a perfect example, only learned of this one on his greatest hits collection: <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avDYbrEk-sE?fs=1&hl=en_US"> you gotta hear the demo versions of P.Y.T. and Billie Jean if you haven't, also - ill try to dig them up. Panch
It barely sounds like him. The production is in-between his middle shit and his newest shit. Remember the Time meets Butterflies. I don't know. I'll still check it out cause it's him, but I'm saddened by that... kinda.
The NZA
yeah, i agree. sets the tone for me to kinda expect more Invincible than earlier albums, though if i can get something resembling a "You rock my world" or "Whatever happens" out of it, i'll be cool with the several other inevitable "fuck the paparazzi" tracks. Panch
I mean, we have to come to the conclusion that we can never have anything as close to as good as before. It's cool that they're trying, but at this point let the man rest. This isn't 2Pac, man.
The NZA
wait, what? Pac's released tons of stuff since dying! i'm cool with at least 1 posthumous MJ album...again, listen to some of his unreleased stuff! Sunset Driver is Off the Wall era, and just as awesome.
