The NZA Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 just found out about this one, wiki says art's done by Takeyasu Sawaki, guy who did both Devil May Cry and Okami, so that explains a bit. Story comes from the hebrew book of Enoch, so uh...this should be something.

The NZA Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 nice. i know it's a little far off, but it's odd that it's flying under so many radars (clearly, including my own, before). the bibical and yet surreal style/atmosphere is interesting; like Dante's Inferno before, i'm not entirely sure beat-em-up is the ideal genre, but it's an intriguing project nonetheless, gonna keep an eye on this one.
Maldron Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Things: The sensibly dressed guy is Lucifer. He talks to God on his cellphone. He may possibly, at some point, betray you.
The NZA Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 well...i've played 2 games this year with in em, and this is the only one that'd make sense for me. at least, past Killer 7.
Maldron Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 What games were they? Anyway, yeah, this game looks to have visual awesome down, but combat awesome is yet to be seen. All they've shown is one weapon - and to be fair, it's labeled "one of the pearls," meaning there's probably more, and hopefully more of those pearls are weapons. Still, combat's a big factor in my enjoyment of these things.
The NZA Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 yeah, these kinda live & die on combat, agreed. here's to more/varied weapons & moves like uh, what i saw in Bayonetta. Castlevania: Lord of Shadows and Dante's Inferno, last boss in both.
Maldron Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Oh, yeah, right. Those. forgettable fucking encounters both.
Jables Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Before Dante's inferno I'd have been optomistic of a scripture-based game, but (and this is only having played the demo), it's gotta take more than a fluke to fuck up such rich source material, and therefore is my belief that the fundamental source of these things will generally mediocre(as a verb) the fuck out of any project this ambitious. I still don't get why religion doesn't recruit more through games. Think on how popular Christianity would become with a Myst by way of Heavy Rain-style game playing as say, Judas would be. It's not like anyone's above sensationalising the bible...
Jables Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Ku-dos Sir. That oughtta secure you Gamer for LIFE. Did they ever end up releasing Praise Hero? *consults Google*
Visitant Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I'll admit, I've got a little chub for this after seeing the trailer. I like where it's going. Here's hoping it's as fun as it looks.
