Reverend Jax Posted October 18, 2002 Posted October 18, 2002 This was a tough poll to make. Lots of good movies (Snatch, True Romance) we're left out for not having him in the starring role. Lots of other movies (The Devil's Own, Cool World) were left out because the suck. I know where my (and many of your alls) vote is going. Quote
Silent Bob Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 Tough one. I WOULDA picked Snatch, because that's my favorite performance of his, but...as it stands... Quote
TulipO Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 had to go with 12 Monkeys. although my favorite with him is True Romance. No, he didn't star in the film ,but his character was essential to the plot. Do realize that if Floyd didn't exist it would have had a completely different ending (the pigs would have won!) I voted 12 monkeys because he did a great job at being insane Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 19, 2002 Author Posted October 19, 2002 Well, TulipO, your vote didn't show up, but make sure to vote. While I voted for Fight Club, I'm glad 12 monkeys will get at least one vote. It has to be in my all time top 5 list of favorite movies. Brad Pitt actually spent 3 months in a mental institution studying the inmates to get the character of Jeremy just right. The thing he did with his eyes was soooo cool. Quote
TulipO Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 I love method actors. A superior breed. And the damn thing is telling me I already voted, which I did, but it isn't showing up...most upsetting. Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 Fight Club wins my vote. I was less than convinced by Se7en. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 21, 2002 Author Posted October 21, 2002 Well, TulipO says see voted for 12 monkeys, but since it's not showing up, not surprising for this crowd, Fight Club is winning by taking all the votes so far. Quote
Silent Bob Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 Dammit, 12 Monkeys needs TulipO's vote. That was my second pick. It needs more votes!....I think this election is rigged. Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 I doubt it, when the rest of the poll is riddled with movies like 'Interview with the Vampire'. Yuck! :sleepy: Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 What the fuck is up with that comment? Interview With A Vampire was cool. And Bob, !2 Monkeys was my second pick too. Quote
MyLeakyBucket Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 Interview with a Vampire was cool? I think we all know whats wrong here. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 22, 2002 Author Posted October 22, 2002 It was. What was wrong with it? I like Queen Of The Damned too. Quote
Goatboys girl Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 it can only be Fight Club best movie, best acting performance by Mr. Pitt, bar-none Quote
Silent Bob Posted October 22, 2002 Posted October 22, 2002 I didn't think Interview with a Vampire was bad, either. I just didn't like Brad Pitt's performance in it...or maybe I just didn't like the character. A whiny vampire? C'mon... But as a movie, it wasn't bad. Quote
TopDawg540 Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 Interview was good, prolly not as much if you weren't a vampire fan thou, 12 monkeys i wasn't much into, and Fight club i guess i didn't follow very well, i'll have to watch that again. My vote went with meet joe black, but then again I really liked that movie. Quote
SuperEeyore Posted October 23, 2002 Posted October 23, 2002 SEVEN was by far one of his best movies I loved it... oohh I have to watch it all over again!!! Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 24, 2002 Author Posted October 24, 2002 TD, you really have to watch Fight Club again. That movie is so worth getting into. Easily one of the greatest movie of all time, and many here can attest to that. Quote
Silent Bob Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 ...I'm not sure if I would go THAT far, but yeah, it was a great movie. Quote
King of Snake Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 Fight Club with 12 Monkeys a close second. Shame Snatch and Kalifornia aren't on there but I'd still have voted Fight Club. And by the way, on the subject of actors getting accents right, I know many times you may think they've got it right, to someone from there they sound terrible. I live right beside lots ofsettled pikeys and I can tell you he was spot on in Snatch. Quote
spiffytee Posted October 26, 2002 Posted October 26, 2002 haven't voted yet. it's a tough poll. however, i don't know why thelma & luise is up there. don't think it was that big of a part. 7 years in tibet, legends of the fall, and a river runs through it i haven't seen, but i haven't heard anything amazing about them (i bet these haven't gotten any votes). i saw 12 monkeys and it really boggles the mind how he can do that eye thing. its almost scary, he can move one eye to make it look at his nose and the other one is staring at you! fight club is great, but not "the greatest movie of all time" by far. interview with the vampire was quite interesting, but queen of the dammed terrible. so it's between meet joe black, 12monkeys, seven, interview with the vampire, and fight club... tough choice. too bad ocean's eleven has more of an ensamble cast - the movie is great! why no snatch?! he's a pretty big role there. Quote
Reverend Jax Posted October 27, 2002 Author Posted October 27, 2002 best movie, best acting performance by Mr. Pitt, bar-none I actually think his performance in 12 monkeys was slightly better, just because it was such a unique difficult character to get right. Fight Club got my vote because it's my favorite movie of all-time. And KoS, as far as accents, Helena Bohnam Carter's in Fight Club was incredible, I was so completely blown away when I heard her in her natural British accent. I had no clue. Quote
TulipO Posted November 3, 2002 Posted November 3, 2002 okay, who voted for Meet Joe Black? I feel an ass whoopin coming on (gee wouldn't I be embarassed if I accidentally voted for it when i was trying to vote for 12 Monkeys? Hmmm...) Anyway, Interview With The Vampire was good. Louis was just a pain in the ass. Not a bad character, just not a likeable one. His performance was excellent though. Queen of the Damned as a movie, kinda sucked, as the two books that were made into the movie, awesome, and performance wise cool as well. Just my humble opinion... Quote
Reverend Jax Posted November 3, 2002 Author Posted November 3, 2002 Yes, your 12 monkeys vote is still unseen. This is an official calling-out: Who voted for Meet Joe Black? Sounds liek the work of Ian655321. Quote
TopDawg540 Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Heh, ya'll didn't search very hard did ya? I posted way back in the beginning. I'm the mystery vote for Meet Joe Black. But then again I also said I was Biased towards that particular movie cause i really liked it. Was a close run between that and Se7en. In the end i went for the underdog. Quote
Spongebob Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I havent seen Fight Club yet but people have said it is really good and I am going to watch it in the next week so I voted for it. Quote
