The NZA
that's a dubious call, my friend. i once saw manson blow a guy on stage when opening for nine inch nails. Grohl may share this habit for all i know, but did not feel the need to publicly share such when i paid to see him play the musics. now, a gary numan cover i thought that went better would've been fear factory's take on "cars". that wasn't bad. Thelogan
You played Test Drive 6, huh? I pay extra for on stage blowjobs. That's just a cherry on top.
The NZA
...i think today was the day that image finally meant something different to me us.
Mortiis558
Well at least Manson ventured into new territory with the cover instead of being so exact. The Foo Fighters do nothing with the song except for Grohl trying to do his best Gary Numan impression. It's like he said "Hey let's try and make this cover exactly like the original song. Don't change ANYTHING!" It is boring. But that is how I feel about most of the Foo Fighters stuff. Fear Factory's "Cars" cover is a good one though. Panch
Did he bite the head off like Ozzy?
The NZA
mortii you're right that he didn't try anything different, but i gotta say, i think manson sounds the same on almost all his covers. same kinda production, same tempo/"creepy"-ish voice thing and delivery. it feels like a formula he puts on top of other people's shit, cause he made $ off fucking up sweet dreams so why not just keep at it? Thelogan
That cover came before Sweet Dreams. I stopped listening to new Manson after 1999 or so, but I didn't find this to be the case then. Rock and Roll Nigger was a good cover, didn't fit those conventions. Well, except the creepy voice I guess.
Mortiis558
Yeah but the creepy voice is the same as Cobain mumbling, it's just how he sings. And Down in the Park was quoted (wrongly) as being off the Sweet Dreams single, but it was actually off the Lunchbox single iirc. One of the Portrait singles at least. I stopped listening to Manson after (during/before) Mechanical Animals. As this is getting off topic let's get BACK TO THE 80's!! http://youtu.be/ahitJjavTCM This one just skip to about 15 seconds in, it's worth it just to see the cover of the cd and what the guy is wearing, if you don't laugh you have no soul! http://youtu.be/t0oALRL7uyY http://youtu.be/Q05DGnEio3w

Mr. Hakujin
My favorite Alice Cooper song is Halo of Flies. man i love that song. Actually, i just love Alice Cooper. <3 You and Tim Burton both. Saw Dark Shadows this weekend and it had 100% more Alice Cooper than any other Tim Burton film.
