Lycaon Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I hereby dedicate this thread to the glorious food known as bacon. Enjoy! http://gwenskitchencreations.blogspot.com/2012/02/bacon-roses.html I've heard of something like this before (dipped in chocolate), but I didn't have a recipe. Thought I'd share. Also, I wonder if one could include pralines to make a pralined bacon rose...

Mortiis558 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Oohh, bacon is the taco shell....fucking brilliant!!
The NZA Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 so, this week, i fucked up and bought regular-ass oatmeal, and forgot to buy raisins, or you know, anything to add to it to not let it taste like boring-ass oatmeal. then sen ate up all our eggs. go to the gym a few times, you apparently need all the house's protein. this left stale cereal, and questionable bacon in the back of the fridge. i fried up as much as i could, found some cheddar and made a sammich. i'ma do it again tomorrow, as my continued existence proves my theory that frying the fuck out of things kills the bad bacteria while keeping the cruncy bacon goodness.
Thelogan Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Speaking of crunchy: I like my bacon soft. Maybe a little crispy around the edges, but I should be able to bend it. Apparently, this is unusual. My wife is finally trained properly to remove my bacon before hers, I like it thick and juicy. When it's crunchy, I feel like I'm eating bacon bits or something.

Not that unusual. Crispy might as well be burnt, to me.
The NZA Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 cripsy and a bit burnt are both good, though. i wouldn't turn down a pity fuck from a leper softer bacon i guess, but i don't know that id favor it.
the division of joy Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I generally like all variations bacon. Our bacon is hard to make crispy out and out due to it being like a thin slice of delicious pork chop though.
Lycaon Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 A little, but it's not the first (or second, or third, etc) time I've heard of it. I'll try it some day.
Aartemys Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 It's not chocolate covered bacon or anything like that. Its a chocolate bar infused with bacon. You know, how they also make some with chili's in them or cayenne?
the division of joy Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Suppose, I do really like dark chilli chocolate.
Mortiis558 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 To me bacon and sweets just don't mix. Bacon is damn good enough on it's own not to need any other stuff with it... And what is the shit the brits call "Sticky Bacon" cause that doesn't look like any bacon I've seen?
Mr. Hakujin Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 This thread was a long time comming here. Well done, Ly.
Thelogan Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 So you have no frame of reference here, Donny. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know...
Lycaon Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 ...you don't dig crispy bacon? No. I do not. It's... like you don't even know me
Aartemys Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Me too, Ly. I don't eat it anymore, but when I did, it had to be more on the rubbery side...
