Thelogan Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 FUCK YOU Binding of Isaac! I could have gone all the way the first time I killed Mom, but NO! You had to give me a fucking cut scene and a game over. Now I can kill Mom in my sleep and you refuse to power me up enough to kill Satan. Jesus fucking christ. This game is bad fucking ass btw. It's a roguelike, so when you die...you're fucking dead. Game over. Start again. Pussy ass Dark Souls. But it's just so fucking addictive. The powerups (which change your appearance) and dungeons are random, so you never get the same thing twice, and I love just becoming this twisted monstrosity towards the end. If I had played it when it came out, it would be my GOTY 2011. I bought Arkham City, and I'm having a hard time getting into it. I played this stupid game for like 8 hours straight yesterday before I even realized it.
Keth Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx This is my new friend. I type in a game, it analyzes my computer and then tells me it's a piece of shit Dayz will have to wait another day. Binding also for that matter.
Thelogan Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 I think Binding of Isaac will run on a potato. DO YOU HAVE A POTATO?
Keth Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 You lovable bastard you. I guess I'll try it. Thanks man!
Thelogan Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Well, I just sent it to, like, everyone who's online that didn't already own it. PROTIP: If you haven't sent me a friend request on Steam, you cannot take advantage of my drunken spurts of generosity. Just sayin'.
Thelogan Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Oh hell yeah. I basically just got the perfect storm of items, and I wasn't going to let it go to waste. Went all the way to Mom's Heart and got credits. Technically, I have to do it 9 more times to "beat" the game, but I've at least cleared the 2nd milestone of end bosses and unlocked all the characters. This is what I looked like before the boss: It started with a Yum Heart, which refills 1 heart when used. Recharges every 3 rooms. The next important piece was the Habit, which recharges items when you get hit. It takes two hits to recharge my Yum Heart, which essentially made me immortal for the bulk of the game. After that I just kept getting health upgrades, and I spent 2 hearts to get Spirit of the Night, which gave me flying and Spectral Tears. Then I played it as safe as possible: using blocks for cover and shooting through them or hovering over pits. Good fucking times.
The NZA Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 bumping this one up in queue. considering i think i got this from an indie pack, it looks like it was a great deal.
Thelogan Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Another important factor I forgot to mention: The blood bank machines. With the Habit/Heart combo, I could spend 2 half hearts and then REFILL it. So I could use them infinitely until they broke, giving me over 140 coins at one time, which I would spend liberally. It was a great fucking run.
Keth Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 This game is alot more unsettling than it should be. The opening is one of the creepiest things in a game I've seen in a bit.
Visitant Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Ok I knew NOTHING about this game, now I kinda really wanna play it.
