alive she cried
Following discouraging tweets from potential director Joe Carnahan, recent reports seemingly confirm that Fox is letting go of their Daredevil reboot, allowing the character's rights to revert! DCMarvelFreshman - 8/14/2012Despite nearly two months remaining before Matt Murdock officially comes home, Deadline is reporting that 20th Century Fox is finally pulling the plug on their Daredevil reboot. Assumed earlier today when Joe Carnahan tweeted that his “retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero” pitch “went up in smoke,” the site claims: “From what I’m hearing, that means that Fox is prepared to see the rights to that character revert back to Marvel Studios, and fall under the Disney umbrella. Marvel essentially said no to an extension and to Fox’s request that it come aboard as cofinancier of the Daredevil film.” Joe Carnahan @ carnojoe Guys. To clarify. DD pitch was tremendous and everyone flipped for it. The clock ticked down at Fox, that's why it went tits up. 15 Aug 12 Reply Retweet Favorite Joe Carnahan @ carnojoe I will post the piece we did since it should be seen be all now...then you guys decide. 15 Aug 12 Reply Retweet Favorite As the site points out, Joe Carnahan could still helm the reboot, but it'd be up to Marvel Studios and Disney. And more than likely, they'll likely want a fresh creative team behind the character's next outing. When things officially fall through, we can expect Marvel Studios to somehow include The Man Without Fear in their expanding cinematic universe. Whether that is via his own much-needed solo film, a television series, or perhaps a team-up movie is unknown. Although, considering Marvel Studios has a long slate of films already planned, there's no telling when plans for Daredevil will be set in motion. What do you think? Fox Reportedly Gets To Keep The Rights To ELEKTRA Variety reports that Elektra will still be in the hands of Fox even though the Daredevil film rights are set to revert back to Marvel if a film isn't in production by October. darkknight2149 - 8/14/2012 Fox, the company that brought you X-Men, Elektra, and 2003s Daredevil, has been working fast to get their once announced Daredevil reboot in production before the movie rights revert back to Marvel Studios, the original owners. However, reports have come in today stating that Fox has given up on the reboot and are simply letting Marvel have the rights back. In almost an aside, Variety reports that despite losing Daredevil, Fox still owns the rights to Elektra. This is odd because Elektra was the love interest in the 2003 Daredevil film and Fox's 2005 Elektra film (poster seen above) was set in the exact same universe as the Daredevil film, taking place after it's events. What does Marvel have in store for The Man Without Fear and is this a simple mix-up by Variety or is it indeed true? We'll just have wait and see. Thelogan
Fuck Elektra. I hadn't even considered a TV show. I think DD would lend himself particularly well to that format. You've got court room drama and a guy without expensive-looking powers who generally fights street level stiffs or ninjas.
alive she cried
I was just thinking the exact same thing. Fuck a movie, just give me Miller and Bendis' run as a tv series, and I'll give you my semen.
Maldron
That's why we need a Flash TV series while CSI is still absurdly popular.

Reverend Jax
A Daredevil TV series in the mold of the 90's Flash series? Um...sold! Seriously though, of all of Marvel's first and second tier heroes, Daredevil does make the most sense to make into a TV series. I also think Luke Cage and Iron Fist would make a better TV series than movie.
Iambaytor
Marvel really needs to bring Joe Carnahan over to do his Daredevil movie for them, those sizzle reels are everything I want from Daredevil and Carnahan is the perfect director to do it. This. Hell, if Carnahan directed and DeNiro was Kingpin I'd even watch if Affleck was DD again.
