alive she cried
Episode 1 down. Very good, but Punisher was far too reckless for me. He's firing a sawed off shotgun in a packed hallway, there's no way he avoided innocent casualties. Same when he's shooting at the Irish mobster, Karen's right beside him, he could easily have killed her. That's not how Punisher operates. He's not that reckless, hopefully he'll become more cautious, because at the moment he's a full blown villain.
alive she cried
Episode 2 Feeling better about The Punisher now, Melvin pointing out that his shot on Daredevil was just a warning helped a lot. His hospital rampage is probably just explained as : he's an amazing shot, combined with TV silliness. Still irksome but I'll get over it. Those squabbles aside, Bernthal is nailing it. alive she cried
Episode 3 Best episode so far, Punisher definitely seems to value the lives of innocents. That rooftop ideological exchange was excellent, Bernthal's killing it. Loved seeing the taped gun dilemma and that hallway fight scene. Suit's not perfect, but definitely a lot better than season one's red costume.
alive she cried
Episode 4 God damn! Another fantastic episode. The Punisher/DD dynamic is so good. Pretty much everything about this episode was perfect, and now onto Elektra. I say it again, God damn!

Da Cap'n 2099
Episode 1: Meh episode until the end. Frank shooting up reckless didn't bother me none. Last five minutes gave me a hard on no 3 hour Batman v Superman could ever give.
Keth
Episode 3 gave me a fucking workout just watching it.
alive she cried
Episode 5 Great change of pace with this episode. Elektra is just bristling with energy and a darkness that is spot on. And poor conflicted Matt, try as he might, not being able to resist the siren's call. I agree Panch that the first episode was a bit slow getting going, but since then, it's been consistently knocking it out of the park. alive she cried
Episode 6 Another slowed down episode, I especially enjoyed Frank and Karen's scenes in this. Wonder what the deal is with Reyes? Also what are the chances Matt stays faithful to Karen? Also re: Episode 4, Finn who gets his face shot off has gots to be Jigsaw, right? Da Cap'n 2099
Episode 3: Jesus Fucking Christ. That episode might very well be the top of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Agreed on all fronts about Bernthal. Dude is killing it (heh). Still, can anyone hear the Andy Lincoln Rick Grimes shinning through a little bit? Shane sure, but Rick, too. The NZA
tied up with donny & newt tonight overall stronger than season 1 (which was fantastic), they definitely wanted to outdo the fight scenes there & totally did - raised the bar & had tons more as well. this was crazy busy & plotlines overlapped all over, but i didn't feel they wasted my time much...ive a few knocks here & there (blacksmith reveal was whatever, couple plotlines sort've dangled) but overall there was a lot to love here. i was personally happy to see all the courtroom drama worked in. feels like we're setting up for Born Again either next season or the following one, more likely. just amazing, and the return stuf with Stick & Kingpin were some of the high moments for me as well - Frank did some great work stealing the show in the first half of the season, but man did he have competition. Da Cap'n 2099
Episode 5: Can I have an Elektra Nachios to go, please. Agree with ASC. Great change of pace. Fun looking into the past with the flashbacks. Also, to address what I meant about the very first episode being "meh." Sure, it was slow, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It just felt choppy. Awkward. The rest of the episodes have flowed infinitely better. The season so far has been fantastic.

I totally agree with Eamo's comments about Big Pun in dem spoilers. Also, did anyone else think the fight scene at the end was too dark? As in literally not enough light. There was some great choreography, I think, going on, but dagnabbit if l couldn't barely make out the action for the lighting. I'm sorely tempted to go back and rewatch with the contrast and brightness on my TV altered...

I agree with pretty much all of that. This season has overtaken season one as the new pinnacle for Marvel. So much to love here: DD/Matt is so flawed. He regularly makes awful decisions. Is totally unreliable as a boyfriend to Karen, a friend to Foggy, and he just doesn't care. He's doing what he has to do, everything else comes second. I loved him saying and meaning that he wanted to run off with Elektra, fuck everything else. I can't remember ever seeing such a flawed and densely layered protagonist in a superhero show/movie. Punisher, my earlier fears were allayed (some tv silliness, but we've gots ninjas and magic grannies so okay, fair enough), he has a redemptive arc (just) and is portrayed perfectly by Bernthal, I loved every scene he was in. Elektra, again near perfection. Even the changes to the comic worked for me. Karen's character really grew a lot for me here, and followed a progression that really made sense. I love that, if it makes sense to differ from the comics, they have no qualms in doing so. Karen staying as just a secretary would've made no sense given how capable she has become. Foggy took a backseat this season, but I was glad to see him just call Matt on his bullshit and then just say fuck it and move on to a new agency. Again, not feeling like they have to stay tied to the comics. The Kingpin. God damn! It was so great seeing him back unexpectedly. His scene with Matt in the prison was fucking incredible. He looked like a fucking animal. Born Again has to happen, but hopefully not till Season 4. The Hand were fantastic, so many amazing fight scenes. It was great seeing them adapt to Matt's powers and then him having to re-adapt. Pretty much the only major issue I had was, was The Blacksmith storyline, that was a bit of a let down. But otherwise an amazing season of an amazing show. Follow that every comic movie and tv show.

Episode 2: EPISODETWOOMG! OMGEPISODETWO! WAY better with more errection inducing final moments. Viagra ain't got shit on Daredevil v Punisher: Dawn of Boner! Bernthal was menacingly good (I did amp up the brightness on my TV this episode and it helped with those fight scenes), but the standout for me this episode was Elden Henson as Foggy. Your boy nailed it in two major scenes--personal and professional worlds. Deborah Ann Woll is also doing great as Karen. I feel like they're laying groundwork for Karen to be seriously disappointed when Elektra enters the picture. It's hard to compete with a gorgeous ninja, Greek heiress. I'm sure this will in no small part contribute to Karen's self loathing she's feeling due towards killing Fisk's lieutenant last season. I'm curious to see where her character ends up this season. Hopefully not dead from HIV/AIDS. (That is how she died in the Kevin Smith comic arc, right?)

It was great seeing them adapt to Matt's powers and then him having to re-adapt. strongly agreed, especially with these bits also Foggy saying "fuck it" and trying something else has happened in the books, and the setup for it was right here - like you said, Matt was shitty & could've been more available, but just like Miller's run, when the ninja war went down, he took to ground & just wasn't seen...backdropping that with Punisher's "trial of the century" (that foggy kept saying he didn't want) and you had a thorough & believable setup for why he could appreciate matt's nightlife, but no longer abide it was a practice. you're sad to see the doors close, but still rooting for foggy for giving it his all - and as you said, calling matt on his shit was a highlight in season 1, and no less here. i enjoyed night nurse telling him to get off his cross, but foggy's stuff really stung, and rightfully. Keth
Finished here Man if we don't get a Punisher series after that... You can't tell me they aren't in some sort of planning stages for it. I'm glad we got Stick for more than one ep also. Scott Glenn is bad fucking ass.
Da Cap'n 2099
Episode 6: This thing is trucking along. More questions than answers. Love seeing Matt out of his element and still in total control. Also, agreed: The Castle/Karen stuff was great.

I'm glad we got Stick for more than one ep also. Scott Glenn is bad fucking ass. I really really hope so!! I was thinking they were planning for it too, given they didn't reveal the skull on his chest till the last episode and it was just a brief glimpse. And we didn't get any real flashbacks of his family or time at war. There's so much to flesh out an entire season! He was the highlight of this season for me and I'd be so hyped if he got a series!! God, imagine how brutal it would be.
alive she cried
Yeah, I've felt a Punisher show was inevitable after season 1 of Daredevil let alone season 2. For me the only question is whether it happens before or after The Defenders.
Mr. Hakujin
S2E3 Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! That Rais-esque hallway, stairwell/scene was spectacular. Episode 4: Seriously, give Bernthal all the awards. I hope his story isn't over though. Pretty much. He likely won't get one award though. But that story in the graveyard at the end was something else. My eyes may have welled up during that.
