Mr. Hakujin Posted December 9, 2018 Share Posted December 9, 2018 I read where a DD writer thought the show was "too big to fail" after S3, so when she was called in to the meeting where they told her DD was canceled she was totally...(wait...for...it)...blindsided. Charlie Cox gave a brief interview to EW about the cancellation. He was very diplomatic and mentioned he knew about S4 plot points but didn't want to reveal them lest he give 'false hope" to fans that those stories would ever happen. He says he'd love to play DD/MM again but doesn't know how it could ever happen. Which leads me to this other bit I read about Rolling Stone TV critic Alan Sepinwell describing the relationship between MCU & Marvel TV producers like a parody of Mean Girls. Basically Disney+ could resurrect these characters on their platform but won't. Again, this is just one critic's opinion and not gospel. During a recent interview with Jessica Shaw on SiriusXM, the actor said there is a lot of speculation among fans whether he will reprise the role of the blind superhero post the beloved Netflix series. And he admits playing Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, once more is not an unattractive thought. "What happens in the comics is a writer and an artist will team up for a run of a comic, so they'll do 10 issues, 20 issues," Cox said. "If there was an opportunity for me to come back as Daredevil, whatever that would look like, I imagine it would be a reimagining of the character and the show. If they choose me to do it, there are going to be some elements that are of course the same. Or they might choose someone else and reboot it all over again." Although those same fans want him back as Daredevil in a new series or even to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cox noted that situation could be a double-edged sword."You've got to be careful what you wish for," he said. "You come back and it's not as good or it doesn't quite work or it's too much time has passed. It doesn't quite come together in the same way. You don't want to taint what you've already got. If we never come back, you've got these three great seasons and our third season was our best reviewed. So, the trajectory was up. The man behind the machine that is the MCU sat down with CinemaBlend recently, and fielded out questions about Daredevil, and the character's potential in the MCU now that his Netflix show has run its course. It'd be a shame NOT to feature Daredevil in either a Marvel feature or a Disney+ show, and we asked Feige what he thought about Charlie Cox being able to stay in the part. To our surprise, the usually covert Kevin Feige confirmed the news that so many fans will want to hear when he told CinemaBlend: "If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen." Kevin Feige still kept some cards close to his vest with regards to the future of Daredevil when it comes to a concrete timeline, but those who loved Charlie Cox's portrayal of the character can rejoice in knowing that he will return to Hell's Kitchen at some point and patrol the streets on behalf of the neighborhood's citizens. The NZA Posted May 20, 2022 Share Posted May 20, 2022 A new “Daredevil” series is moving forward at Disney+, with Variety having exclusively learned from sources that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce. It now appears that the project is picking up steam with the hiring of Corman and Ord, although Marvel has yet to announce anything regarding the show formally. Corman and Ord most famously co-created the USA Network series “Cover Affairs” starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. The show aired for five seasons on the basic cabler between 2010 and 2014. They most recently worked as executive producers and co-showrunners on the NBC drama shows “The Enemy Within” and “The Brave” as well as The CW series “Containment.” and we're back!
