Keth
Possible title for 20th 3rd movie revealed. Even before Dawn of the Planet of the Apes debuted in theaters last summer and became a box office smash, 20th Century Fox was already making plans for a follow-up film. Collider now brings word that the previously unnamed feature will go by the title: War of the Planet of the Apes. This remains unconfirmed by Fox, but stay tuned for updates as we learn them. “It could be five years after the event, it could be the night after the events of where we left ‘Dawn,’ so it’s very difficult to know where the story is going right at this moment because it’s being written as we speak,” series star Andy Serkis said of the film last year. “I know that part of the desire for Matt [Reeves] to do this next movie is about continuing the enjoyment of seeing these apes evolve. So I don’t think we’re going to see a situation where we’re jumping….It might be three films, It could be four. It could be five. Who knows? But the journey will continue. It might not necessarily be summarized or completely fulfilled in this next one. The point being, eventually we know that we’re going to end up back at ‘The Planet of the Apes,’ but whether it’s this film or not, I don’t know.” Director Matt Reeves also chimed in about the movie previously, saying: “The notion of what we’re after with the third is to sort of continue that trajectory and see how he becomes a seminal figure in ape history. He almost becomes sort of like an ape Moses. A mythic status… We’re trying to play out those themes and continue to sort of explore it in this universe. Exploring human nature under the guise of apes.” Reeves, who directed last year’s “Dawn,” will return for the sequel, the script for which he is co-writing with Mark Bomback. War of the Planet of the Apes is set for release on July 14, 2017. Edited December 9, 2016 by Axels

Keth
Damn I forgot Woody was in this. That speech he gave was kinda cheesy, but worked somehow. Next year is gonna be a great year for movies.
Da Cap'n 2099
These movies have been great and I have full confidence in these filmmakers, but Woody Harrison seems outta place in this, no?
Keth
Yeah a little bit. Depends on what you mean I guess though. Like for me, I haven't seen him in a dramatic role in a while. He's been the comic relief in the last few movies I've watched him in (A Scanner Darkly, Zombieland, 2012, hell even kind of Hunger Games). It'll be cool to see how he does here. More excited than worried personally, but I can see what you mean.
Da Cap'n 2099
This looks like a straight up action role tho. Also, he's a huge name. This franchise has done great not going that route. Sure, James Franco is big too, but it felt different.
Little Nemo McFly
Woody Harrelson is a god in Natural Born Killers. He can do it.
Drifter
Looks like he took a level of Reign of Fire McConaughey

Donatella
I don't even want to watch the trailer. I'm seeing this. The last two were fantastic! I still say there should be an award for mo-cap acting and it should be called the Serkis. He is an absolute MASTER at what he does and it really makes these films. Little Nemo McFly
I don't even want to watch the trailer. Crazy. That is hardcore - LOL Good luck... Donatella
You've done it Donatella! You've become a true Hondonian! Yaaaay. I'm kidding. Mostly. But getting back to my original comment, I actually don't like watching trailer for any movie I know I'm gonna see. I see so many movies in theaters, I know I'm gonna be beat to death by trailers and they always give too much away! I try to avoid them as long as possible. But yeah...still hyped for this one! 2017 is shaping up to be a good year, for movies at least!
Little Nemo McFly
I've considered avoiding trailers for flicks I intend on seeing - like, yeah - regardless of trailer quality. I like the idea of just going in completely blind - without any pretense. I just can't - LOL. With how huge movies are nowadays and the amount of ads n' stuff thrown in your face - really hard to resist taking a peak. I really don't like spoilers - but, I don't mind a reasonable taste. I think I tried that w/ Ant-Man and ended up getting slapped w/ a major spoiler in an average tv ad! LOL - I also had Force Awakens completely spoiled for me just browsing the internet. Lookin' up something completely unrelated - bam...trolls blasting the interwebs w/ 'the' spoiler. "I went in knowing...I WENT IN KNOWIIING!!!" Don't think this is gonna be a flick where you have to avoid the internet altogether, but - damn, being able to avoid trailers for an anticipated flick in this instant-gratification age is a straight-up super-power. I'd like to avoid as much Episode 8 info as possible - but I know I'm hitting that trailer button as soon as it drops...and staring @ poster reveals...and puff pieces...(sigh) and toy leaks... Donatella
A little less excited for this one compared to the others. I generally don't like war movies and big battle scenes bore me. But the first two Apes movies were so great, I'm looking forward to this one far more than I would an all-human war flick!
