The NZA
i really only watched a handful of episodes (and the movie...and a few issues of the comic) but this could be cool!
Dag
I'm a huge X-Files fan. I have watched almost the whole series twice (the final seasons were not very good and I omitted those episodes). When I was 15, I was such a big fan of the show that I wanted to become an FBI agent.
Keth
I'm excited for this, plus the Lone Gunmen are supposed to be making an appearance. It wasn't ever a series I followed extremely closely, I admit, but I loved alot of the episodes. High hopes for this!
Dag
I watched the first episode and I enjoyed it. The episode could have been better, but the nostalgia made it all worthwhile. Anyone else watching this?
Keth
Yeah just watched the first episode. They lay it on thick as hell, but it works like crazy. Didn't expect it to get that dark.
The NZA
source Thursday, April 20, 2017“THE X-FILES” RETURNS TO FOX FOR 10-EPISODE SECOND INSTALLMENT OF EVENT SERIES FOX has ordered a second chapter of THE X-FILES event series. The all-new 10-episode installment once again will be executive-produced by creator Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning in their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. The event series will air during the 2017-2018 season. Production is set to begin in summer 2017. “Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why THE X-FILES has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide,” said David Madden, President, Fox Broadcasting Company. “Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of THE X-FILES.” In 2016, THE X-FILES drew an average Multi-Platform audience of nearly 16 million viewers and was last season’s No. 2 broadcast drama. It also was the season’s most talked-about event series on Twitter.
Mr. Hakujin
I got into the original series late, as in the season leading up to the first movie was the first season I watched from start to finish. I'm not sure which number season that was, but I remember being frustrated with the way it ended. I did finish out the series after that, skipping most of the Duchovney-less episodes. (Was that one or two seasons they did w/out him? I know he came back for the finale.) Is the second movie cannon with this new series? I don't remember much about the second film other than it wasn't very good. However, what I'm really wondering is what was 2016's No. 1 broadcast drama. That's the real mystery. (Cue X-Files theme song.) Edited April 24, 2017 by Mr. Hakujin
