Da Cap'n 2099 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 NETFLIX ORDERS 'MARVEL'S THE PUNISHER' TO SERIES Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle! This good deed goes unpunished! Netflix has ordered a full first season of “Marvel’s The Punisher,” continuing their unprecedented collaboration with Marvel Television. Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle, introduced to fans earlier this year in the second season of the Netflix original series “Marvel’s Daredevil,” with Steve Lightfoot (“Hannibal”) serving as Executive Producer and Showrunner in addition to writing the series’ first two episodes. “We want to thank the fans who are clamoring for more of Jon’s stunning and powerful performance as Frank Castle from ‘Marvel’s Daredevil,'” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, “Now combined with Showrunner Steve Lightfoot’s compelling writing, we’re thrilled to bring 'Marvel’s The Punisher' to Netflix.” “Jon hooked our global audience with his performance as Frank Castle from the moment he stepped on screen in 'Marvel’s Daredevil,' and we are looking forward to seeing more of him in this role under the vision of Steve Lightfoot,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix Vice President of Original Content. “For me, the complexity and unpredictability of Frank Castle make him an incredibly compelling character and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into his world,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner, Steve Lightfoot. “After watching Jon’s performance in ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ I could not be more excited to be working with him to further develop and progress the story of this anti-hero in a show of his own.” “Marvel’s The Punisher” marks the sixth series ordered thus far as part of the groundbreaking collaboration between Marvel Television and Netflix including the upcoming “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Iron Fist,” “Marvel’s The Defenders” and the Peabody Award-winning “Marvel’s Jessica Jones.” “Marvel’s The Punisher” is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. Donatella Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 YASSS!! He was the highlight of DD for me this season! I was so bummed when it wasn't a Punisher episode! Can't wait for this! Quote
alive she cried Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Inevitable but no less beautiful to hear. Quote
The NZA Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 ^exactly this wondering how it'll pan out, i hope they don't do like Alias and just load a whole season with say Jigsaw or someone, im really hoping for a few eps just like his stuff in Marvel Comics Presents where it's single stories about hitting certain mob targets/etc I was so bummed when it wasn't a Punisher episode! Iambaytor Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I stand with Donatella, Elektra was the exact mixture of tropes that makes me actively despise a character's mere presence (the big reveal did little to assuage this) and Matt's "Fuck you Foggy, I'm a superhero so I can stay out late on a school night if I want to!" schtick got tired in a hurry. I began actively thinking "What's all this boring Daredevil bullshit doing in my Punisher show?" Quote
The NZA Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 but then they fought a million zillion ninjas, and everyone was happy yayyyy Quote
Iambaytor Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 but then they fought a million zillion ninjas, and everyone was happy yayyyy Motherfucker, they fought 6 ninjas. The rest just ran down an alleyway and did nothing. Quote
Da Cap'n 2099 Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 I would say it was between 6 and a million zillion. Quote
Keth Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Elektra sucked. Suuuuuucked! Stick was a bright spot in that storyline though. But pretty much the whole black sky story was annoying. Quote
Iambaytor Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I would say it was between 6 and a million zillion. I'll go as high as 16, and that's counting Nobu. Quote
The NZA Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 set pictures! i mean, nothing crazy, but at least they've started filming Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Get this man some Thanos level Judas bullets and ship him off to an Infinity War. Quote
Da Cap'n 2099 Posted October 4, 2016 Author Posted October 4, 2016 I would be totally fine with Marvel ending their universe with this guy. Fuck it. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I would be totally fine with Marvel ending their universe with this guy. Fuck it. Original Sin style? I can dig it. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 ^ That's exactly what I thought of when I saw the picture! Quote
alive she cried Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Looks like we could be getting an updated version of Born, obviously, it'd just be one or two episodes, or else flashbacks within episodes. But still, exciting stuff. Quote
Mr. Hakujin Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 I dig that new poster and "Micro" features prominently on it. So I'm guessing the guy in the dilapidated building sporting the beard and beanie is Microchip. No doubt he's saying something like, "Get out of there NOW, Frank!" On the phone. Quote
