Pics look good as did the teaser trailer they put out a while back. And I didn't notice until I saw Linda Carter WW down there in the first pic, but new WW's headband is an inverted tiara. I wonder if that's a sly little way the filmmakers are saying, "This ain't ya mamma's WW."

Aw man, that's everything I wanted. She gets to be in color in this one!

Kinda weird that they're doing this as a period piece but since it appears to be the movie I wanted Captain America: The First Avenger to be, I'm not complaining. It's apparent that DC is trying to parallel their Justice League with Marvel's Avengers because they were really working on making Batman and Aquaman into Tony Stark and Thor in that Justice League trailer and this is really hammering home that Diana is DC's Captain America.

Looks like a pretty damn awesome action flick n' period piece.

DC should've just taken their time, establishing their characters and universe. Ironically, it looks like they might have a chance at a second-life through their solo flicks. If whatever upcoming solo flicks can be as original and exciting as this - there may be hope for the inevitable JL2.

Right on about the lack of Snyder's muted, darkened tones helping out this trailer immensely. But I feel those comparisons with the Avengers are forced. Especially with WW & Batman. I can see more of Tho vibe in how Aquaman is treated in the Justice League trailer. The similarities between WW & Captain America's first film (that we know of thus far) are that they're both set during a World War & they both use shields. That's about it. Edited by Mr. Hakujin

They're both platonic ideals of their gender with super strength, near-invulnerability, and a star-spangled ensemble who fight nazis and then turn up in the modern world as a fish-out-of-water. Both are known for their almost ridiculous sense of right and wrong and being incredibly pure of heart and decent, sometimes to their own disadvantage. The only thing really different about them (barring publishers, gender, and Wonder Woman's retconned ability to fly) is that Captain America's origin is tied to bullshit comic book science and Wonder Woman's is based on Greek mythology. Cap and Wonder Woman have always been intercompany parallels, that's not a new idea.

As for Stark/Wayne, that's mostly just the Justice League trailer. Same with Aquaman, his obvious parallel is Namor but since there is no MCU Namor yet they're structuring him like Thor. They're really leaning heavily on distancing Bruce Wayne from the Despite-All-My-Rage-I-Am-Still-Just-A-Bat-In-a-Cage portrayal from Batman v. Superman. He has a Tony Stark quality about him, just less sarcastic. It's actually a smart idea, it's how Stan Lee made DC and Marvel look like rivals back in the day and won over fans, so I'm on board with this concept.

It might not be a new idea to compare the two but it does not mean it's a good idea. With as many comic book issues between WW & Cap I'm sure you could draw "intercompany parallels" to Spawn if you tried hard enough. I'm talking about the films and specifically how you're overly enthusiastic to put on straight up Marvel/DC pairings like this was Amalgam 2017. Personally, I'm happy to just let WW & DCCU be its own thing, but if you're more about focussing on WB/DC v Disney/Marvel then, ok, that's a thing, too.

And if you're hellbent on drawing comparisons between this JL trailer and Avengers, then Bruce is more a Nick Fury type than Stark. He's assembling the team and is the man with the plan(s).

Finally got around to watching the trailer. The action looks amazing and any fear I had about Gal not being the right body type for the role is gone. She looks great here! Still not convinced she can act, though.

Genius billionaire playboy philanthropist.

No, not like Stark at all.

Bruce Wayne was never a real playboy like Stark. Also, Bruce was here first, so really the genius, billionaire, philanthropist bits are all ways Tony is similar to Bruce, not the other way around. And for like the third time, the comparisons are in reference to the new JL trailer only. Geez.

But what I really want to know from Pancho is would the Flash's look be improved with a backpack?

Ok that looks pretty fucking sick.

Yep

I think I've heard the first iconic superhero theme music since... I don't know, Batman Forever?

Yep

don't fuck this one up, DC

Yep

Anyone else immediately think of Richard Harrow from Boardwalk Empire when they showed the woman with the flesh colored mask? Damn, what a fucking great character arc that was.

Yep
