The NZA Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 did we have a thread? i can't find it this was damn good - tied it up tonight, donny & i were both interested after it killed it at the Emmy's. it's crazy just how much shit went down that we didn't know about, and this was some high-tier casting too: not only did they go to great lengths to look like the respective people, but most on here acted their asses off. 10 full episodes, and i can scarcely point at any fat to trim - just a really impressive series. Visitant Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Been wanting to see it as I'm a huge Ryan Murphy fan. The fall season's been kicking my ass so far though, so I figure I'll pick this up in the off season Quote
alive she cried Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I was somewhat intrigued when I saw it advertised, but decided to place it in the maybe pile, after your review though it's been added to the list. Quote
Donatella Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 This show was masterfully done. NZA and I would google the actual people as we watched and compare them to the actors. The casting was on point! Not only did the actors look very much like the real people (hair, make up and wardrobe were great!), but they got some really high caliber talent. The performances were fantastic! Everyone deserved their nominations and I believe three of the main cast won Emmys in their categories. There really wasn't a dull episode in the entire season. We were riveted, every time. It's pretty painful to watch, seeing the prosecution so hopeful and knowing how it all turns out. A lot of the race stuff is sadly still relevant. But yeah, I'd highly recommend this one too. Like NZA said, it provides some really interesting insight into all that was happening that we didn't see, and some stuff I'd long since forgotten. I wonder how much of it was fact vs. fiction, but either way, it makes for some damn good TV. Quote
Da Cap'n 2099 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 This just looked so "TV movie" to me. Might check it out since y'all say otherwise. Quote

Eh - that's why I kinda steer away from projects like these...biopics n' the like. I'd rather watch an in-depth documentary / retrospective. Maybe if I knew / were more familiar w/ all the facts n' stuff - I'd watch n' see these guys' dramatization - w/ some level of appreciation...but, I'd be wondering the whole time 'how much of this is ghoulish bullshit?'. That whole affair was just...sad. All around - sad. Quote

Felt more like a really good TV drama than a cheesy TV movie. Eh - that's why I kinda steer away from projects like these...biopics n' the like. I was curious to see it told in a different way and I was not disappointed. Quote
Little Nemo McFly Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Cool - glad to hear it isn't...'Blood on the Blackboard'. LOL! because I hate the Simpsons. Quote
