Ever since Hell On Wheels ended I've felt that western void (the Deadwood movie, I'll believe it when I see it). Texas Rising was forgettable. Couple others, too. Damnation on USA comes close, but I think I found the winner in Netflix's Godless.

Gritty. Real. Smart. Original (but familiar). Godless gives me hope that westerns can be at the top of my list again.

Still only a few episodes in, but I'm hooked. I hear that the ending is satisfying as hell, too. Can't wait.

This looks right up NZA's alley. Michelle Dockery is awesome. Loved her in Downton Abbey. 

 

Have you seen Westworld? I'm not big on westerns but I really enjoyed that weird take on the genre!

Yeah, Westworld was cool as shit. Just don't know if I would put it in the same category as Godless or Hell On Wheels. This is, straight up, a western. And, yeah, Nick would love it. But, I think, you would too. The women run the show which is different for a western.

Finally finished this and, yeah, this was great. Badass and gritty as hell. Couple dumb things here and there, but never hurts the whole of the thing. HIGHLY recommended (to western lovers).
