A reimagining of the original, this reminds me of all the anime (all four of them) I grew up on. Violent. Gratuitous. Bizarre. Only difference is this animation style is so simplistic that it sometimes doesn't feel like a real anime. Still, I'm interested in the plight of these characters and story. Which, at times, seems to flirt with some interesting themes. I don't know. It just feels like ol school anime.
