Though not a tv or movie star he was a staple of my childhood growing up with my parents tuning-in NPR, and even today I still have NPR set to #1 on my own car's radio. Up until his retirement I would catch his newscasts especially Morning Edition and made special effort to listen to Wait, Wait, don't tell me.
