Spongebob
Most I have gotten on a test was in Math where I got a 210% for 110 on test 50 for correcting 10 answers on the review 40 for being the only one to turn in review and 10 for finding a mistake in the test. It was the final. hehehe
The NZA
A philosophy class once asked "define courage". Everyone else wrote page after page...i wrote "this", crumbled it up, and threw it at the teacher's desk as i brashed on outta the class. I got an A. Philosophy's great. MyLeakyBucket
I dunno, I would like to believe IC's story but it just sounds like a myth that everyone wants to aspire to but nobody has the guts....I would like to be proven wrong in this case tho : ) As for my current average. It gives me a very respectable degree if it stays as it is so I'm happy.
The NZA
Hah...twas one of the early wanky classes, didnt take all that much considering i was certain i was acing the class & the teacher dug my essays....I heard some other class had a one word question of "why" and another guy got a high mark for answering "why not?", who knows. You shouldve seen the creative writing class..i ripped off Frank Miller & old wolverine stories so much i owe them royalties. Anyway, there was one class i decided to show up for and you were suppoed to have this whole presentation ready on your favorite art piece: big blown up shot of it, handouts of a poem of some kind on it, etc...this is where I crap my pants cause ive got nothin, and then get called up like 3rd to go... Well, back at FIU there's this big Cube thing: I understand other campuses have them too....theyre cool, you can actually push it & make it move to the side-like... So, having nothing, I proclaim that I didnt bring a pic because everyone saw it on the way to class, and no poem becasue i "couldnt put my feelings into words" (jesus) but went on to explain that it was a superstition in FIU housing that, should you be on your way to failing a final you're hung over for and havnet studied adaquately, simply push the cube for luck and you might just make it. Funny thing is, the different divisions of housing (back then, just Panther Hall and No Man's Land, aka the apartments) had different rules: some said push it to the east, while the others said to the west. Wank Teacher:"So..what's the right answer?" Me: "I, uh, I guess it depends on the score you end up with, right?" Wank: "Ah! So, that is to say, it's a local mythology, blah blah blah (insert wanker words here like "plethora" and "cornocopia)..." Me: "Exactly. I'm glad you caught that." I got a B as i recall. That longshot, that's far less believable to me than the courage one, espeically if youve taken a number of philosophy classes.
TopDawg540
Agreed, that was fantastic.
MyLeakyBucket
I rip the piss out of TMTYL on a regular basis about philosophy. I feel kinda bad except for the fact I would get no marks for screwing up your paper and shouting "theres your proof", or something similar in a maths test. Jeez :(
JunkerSeed
One of my friends had a math final, and instead of even trying to do the test, he wrote a rather large philosophical essay about the nature of hopelessness, filled every margin of the page in tiny print. He got an F. :O
The NZA
See MLB, that's why i stay away from that math shit - its just cold.
MyLeakyBucket
Yeah but there's maths everywhere we look according to Max Cohen in Pi.... The cycling of disease epidemics, the wax and wane of Caribou populations in the Arctic, sunspot cycles, the rise and fall of the Nile and yes! the New York Stock Exchange, they are all the same. I'll find this structure, this order, this perfection. Turn lead into gold. The first. Right here. Right here. With math. The numbers of the stock market are my lead. When I find the pattern, then I will find gold. Cold? I think not..... Oh yeah, and :darwin: blows :P
The NZA
Quiet you, my subject will get an Anorousky movie one day and then we'll be cool!
Reverend Jax
....I heard some other class had a one word question of "why" and another guy got a high mark for answering "why not?", who knows. My dad told me that story once. It's supposedly what Henry Kissinger did in his college philosophy class, but it still sounds like a myth.I woudl have written 'because' :P

The NZA
No, because first youll miss the desk and then youll trip on the way out the door, illustrating "dork" instead of "courageous". Wow, Silent Bob's right, this one's a goldmine for that Tangent man.
Reverend Jax
He can't put an end to our tangents if he can't FIND US! Gwahaha! ::plays with end of long handlebar mustache:: Now off to tie a damesle in distress to the railroad tracks for being one day late with the rent! ::the whipping sound of a long black cape is heard as I leave the scene::

Reverend Jax
::compelled to respect tangent man's authority:: Um, yes, so, for everyone else who has read The Prisoner of Azkaban, what do you think of casting Gary Oldman as Sirius Black?
BigChiefSlapaho
Um... did you say Gary Coleman?
Reverend Jax
Yes, I meant Coleman. I accidently typed Oldman and then accidently post 7 different images of Oldman. Gary Oldman fits the book's description of Sirius Black very closely, but I meant to type Coleman even though he in no way fits the description of Sirius Black. How did you catch my mistake? Spongebob
Yea he would be cool. He has the face and hair. But don't know what voice sounds like. Back with my latest test 115. My 6 weeks average is 100 and I have two freebie blow off grades for next six weeks. Edited February 20, 2003 by Spongebob
Reverend Jax
Keep in mind that movie make-up has evolve to the point where it doesn't matter what hair he has. And he has done tons of different voices over the years, he has the voice talent to do what he wants with his voice. Any other thoughts.
Silent Bob
I think Oldman is the perfect pick for that role. He's certainly creepy enough. What do you think about them getting David Thewlis to play Professor Lupin, though? He's not what I pictured at all...
