The NZA
anyone else kinda excited for this one? i dig good murder mysteries (feels like it's been a bit since seeing one on the big screen), and the lineup here is insane
Keth
A murder mystery from the director of The Best Star Wars movie should be fun.
Donatella
This feels like an updated, crazier version of Clue and I’m in. Might even be willing to pay theater prices to check it out!
Donatella
We saw this one today. It had such potential. The cast is stellar and it was really funny. It starts and ends strongly but I hated the middle. I really found it hard to care about the story for like half an hour in the middle. It ended well enough for me to leave thinking positively of the movie but overall, I think it was a let down. My friends who’ve seen it all loved it and it’s reviewing very well so I’d still say check it out. I’m curious to see if anyone else has issues with it.
Keth
I think maybe the cast was too big? Everyone was fantastic, but didn't get enough time to shine. Chris Evans and Daniel Craig stole the show though. I loved it all the way through myself. I definitely want to see it again. People keep calling it a whodunnit though, but it's more like a howdunnit (I hated typing those words). 1
Donatella
Yes! You nailed it! Before seeing it, I was really excited for what I thought would be a classic whodunnit. The moment it switched to a howdunnit, they lost me. They got me back, but not soon enough. I also agree about the cast size. Not sure who I’d trim...the Nazi son and liberal daughter maybe? Toni Collette’s character wasn’t essential but I just love her so! Hmmm...
spiffytee
Pleasently surprised at this style of mystery movie. It plays on the rich family and the head figure, and sometimes the source of wealth can be the target. It's a new twist and formula that I enjoyed very much. They will be creating a sequel but I wonder just how much of it will need to be changed because it's like one of those things where it loses its original charm.
