MyLeakyBucket
So are tater tots what I'd call croquettes? Just saw Napoleon Dynamite and that's what they looked like. Yah I'm pretty sure. Certainly look the same.
BigChiefSlapaho
No actually. Croquettas are breaded meat pastries. I'll explain. Cubans make them out of three basic things: cheese, chicken, or ham. Basically it's one of those things ground up pretty well, then formed into a penis-looking thing with breadcrumbs on the outside. Then you fry it so it becomes slightly crispy on the outside.

La Lindsay
wait, they might call them something different over there though. tater tots are kind of like easily edible hash browns.
RobitussinEF
yeah they used to give those at school for breakfast or lunch
MyLeakyBucket
Back in England when I've had croquettes they've been made out of potatoes (not meat) so they are practically the same thing

BigChiefSlapaho
Croqueta Preparada is a famous cuban concoction sandwich. Two soda (or saltine) crackers, several croquetas, several slices of ham, swiss cheese, mayonaise, smush all between the crackers.
King of Snake
but how can u not like ketchup?! its ketchup! now that green ketchup is just gross lookin. Unfortunately I'm a super taster, it means I can only really go for bland plain foods, anything with too many flavours going on at once is overpowering to me. The worst for me is mayo, even the slightest taste gets me barfing. Still though I get more flavour from the bland shit I eat than others... dante
Croquetas (the way I've known them): Croquetas also come in Jaiba which is apparently Devil's Crab meat. Croqueta Preparada is made with Pan Cubano, and it has ham, swiss cheese, mayo, and pickles, although I pick the pickles out. I can't find a picture of this... Crackers Chief? That's only if you're making the "snack" version heh. I wouldn't be surprised if Croquettes were something different over there. What we call Fries you call Chips, and what we call Chips you call Crisps. Ugh, divided by the same language...ain't it a bitch.
BigChiefSlapaho
If you go to Sergio's, they make it with crackers and they charge you a left nut for it.

A penis-looking thing? This explains why I LOVE Croquettas!!!! But yeah, croquettas taste great with ketchup, too.
BigChiefSlapaho
Sooo....only the one time then? Well if they've already got your left one... they might go for the right. Nobody orders that sandwich more than once.
La Lindsay
yeah, tater tots are made with potatoes. they're kind of like little log versions of the hash browns they serve with mcdonald's or burger king's breakfasts.

BigChiefSlapaho
Yeah, but I know the owner of Sergio's, so I sometimes get de discount, tu sabe? Ketchup is good on all types of pork-dog products. Hot dogs, franks, brats...
dante
I've actually gotten used to using other condiments for my fries/burger/etc. Like I use BBQ sauce for dipping. And I've tried a mixture of BBQ and Steak sauce. It's not bad, a little tangy, but a bit watery.

Signal08
Well ketchup makes anything bad tasting automatically better. I dont like the taste of kidney beans...so I put a plethora of ketchup on it. I really only like my eggs scrambled... so if i get over easy eggs, I add ketchup to it... I dont like the taste of the yolk a whole lot.
