The NZA
Mm...which one was the cowboy episode again? I liked the mushroom one...hah. Yeah Ed stepped outside the usual quirky, kind of annoying character in her/his randomness. The other 3 were cool too, dont get me wrong, it was their chracterization that kept me comin back. That and the fact that Faye's voice is dead sexy in japanese. Now im all sad that the series is over.
The NZA
Ok, thanks again goes to Jax for makin me aware of the Cowboy Bebop movie (OAV?) "Knockin on Heaven's Door", got a good quality version off Kazaa, was really cool. Cant quite place where it woulda happened in the series, but like many OAV's its a bit of a side-story, was a great one at that. Definitely worth seeing as soon as youre a few episodes into the seris & know the main cast of characters. Oh, and the cameo stuff is always cool...i thought it was badass, seeing clips of "High Noon" in an anime, man i wish id see more of that. PS *odd spoiler ...jax, anyone else: did you notice Ed gave away her gender in this one? That was funny...i loved Ed's investigation methods. I have to rewind and read over like 10 times....  I am sorry I can't keep up I will stick to the American version. IC you came over yesterday and forgot that and Dog Day Afternoon  Dumbass Edited March 25, 2003 by Spongebob
The NZA
So youre too slow for it...? Fair enough, ill try to find dubs. Try again before i come back tho, rewinding sucks but at least itll improve your reading speed. The series is worth it anyway.
Spongebob
What are you talking about... try agian???  I watched 30minutes worth in 2 hours... I give up  I know that when something is hard to GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!  Just like i know lift with your back not your legs.... :sly:
Reverend Jax
This is the EXACT reason why I only watch anime on DVD. You can watch it in either sub or dub, and when you lend it out, your friend can watch it in either one. You can watch it with sub, then switch to sub if they're alot of fast dialogue in one particular episode. Sub vs Dub you ask? I say Neither! Give me both! Give me the choice! spiffytee
hey spongy, check this. i gots a great idea for ya. since cowboy bebop's subs are too fast for you (note: it's average speed for the anime world,) i suggest you start reading nick's comics and practice reading faster. check out watchmen. that one is damn cool. The NZA
Agreed, havin the option of either is superior, but these are VHS ripped off the DVD...quality's fair, and the price is right. Sponge - if you want, just wait till you move to miami this summer, and if i still dont have the DVD's of it eventually, you can maybe borrow Jax's or someone's, watch em dubbed, im sure the voice acting isnt too bad. Spongebob
If it is the same dubing from the show on Cartoon Network then they great as far as dubs go. And ask me i'll know. I have been meaning to get IC's hero vs. hero comics.
Take Me To Your Lizard
Is it just me, or is the bit where Ed gets electrocuted in the chessmaster episode just the funniest thing ever?
mysterytramp
My favourite episode in the series has to be 'Ballad of Fallen Angles'. It was the first Cowboy Bebop I saw when it started here on CNX back at the start of the year. Â It was like seeing an animated John Woo film, and it got me hooked on the rest of the series. I couldn't believe what i was seeing, and the coolest moment has to be: Â taken from a script I found online: Â VICIOUS: The same blood runs in you and me. The blood of a beast who wanders, desiring the blood of others. Â SPIKE: I've bled all of that blood away. Â VICIOUS: Then why are you still alive?! Â Vicious stabs Spike in the shoulder while Spike shoots Vicious in the shoulder. Vicious throws Spike out a stained glass window. Spike drops a grenade. Reverend Jax
That was a fine episode, though I thought Jupiter Jazz was the best of the "dramatic episodes."
spiffytee
i don't remember which one jupiter jazz was.... Â however cowboy bebop has that flava... you got almost every episode with a different feel to it, but the same characters. totally self contained episodes that you can pretty much just jump in (most of em, anyway.) unlike series's such as ranma, gundam, or even pikachu. that's the beauty of it. Reverend Jax
Well there's something be said about nonepisodic series with a continuous story. If you can watch them in order, it can really do alot for a series, but episodic is good too. Jupiter Jazz was the one on the planet with just guys. Unidentified Source
Yeah, it's almost hard to explain. Every episode has that style of flavor that makes you get into it. Well, for me it does at least. I think it's a great series, and hope to see more of it in the future.

whiterasta
Well shit...I saw the movie last night and I'm fuckin' hooked. A question: Does the plotline of the movie relate to the series, or is it like an alternate reality type thing? Also, does the manga follow the same events as the anime, or is it just an offshoot?
The NZA
if i recall correctly, Knocking On Heaven's Door (the OAV) was a side-story, but it happens before the series' ending, so if you felt anything was unresolved, it will be. Â The manga (that i saw) was a short series of side-stories as well, which is cool cause the series is so awesome, you're down to see more from it. Art book wasnt bad either. whiterasta
So does the OAV tie into the series with the Elektra chick and everything? I guess the best way to find out would be to watch it myself, but I'm curious... Â Anyway, thanks IC. MetalHeart
I"ve seen bits and pieces of this one, but never got hardcore into it. Â Perhaps I should....
The NZA
You really should. I got iff offa isohunt, the full DVD set was about 5 gigs, really worth it...im surprised you havent seen it, MH.... Â rastaman - sorry man, been a while, cant remember the specfics (im slowly tryin to re-watch it with LL) but watch it on your own, you wont be dissapointed. Â Ill link the torrent if anyone needs it.
whiterasta
Saw the last episode this morning, which is stupid cuz I didn't watch the 25 episodes preceding it. Still, while I have no idea what happened to Ed or who Julia, Viscious, and Jin are, the ending still nearly moved me to tears. "It's all just a dream"...damn, that's powerful stuff.
Reverend Jax
Why'd you watch the last episode first. Fuck, that was a two-parter too, so you missed part one of the last episode as well. Watch the rest, man.
