Saw "Distant Worlds: Music From Final fantasy" recently. Uematsu sat right over by us but I managed to refrain from fanboying all over him. The lack of Final Fantasy 4 music made me sad, but for the most part it was amazing. Hearing the whole opera from FF6 made me explode into joyous orgasm.

 

Quick aside to that, I know it's a video game symphony and all but people learn some fucking symphony etiquette. Your thrashed jeans and Final Fantasy shirt from 10 years ago with the mustard stains are unacceptable. I know Video Games Live had a cosplay contest and it was O.K there, but it said no where on the Distant Worlds sheets about one. Take off your shitty Zidane costume. Oh and to that mid 20s loser with his DS on the whole time and waving his plush moogle in the air? Fuck you.

Mitsuda has tweeted that he's going to be working on a Xenogears fully orchestrated album. Square Enix has put up a section on their members site for fans to vote on their favorite Xenogears tracks from the original soundtrack. The most popular ones will likely be selected to be part of this orchestrated album.

They posted a list of ten songs. I wonder if those are going to be the ones on the album.

 

Edit: Wikipedia has the Kanji for the songs on the soundtrack. Using it, the songs on that list are:
