It loses the resonant percussive quality that section of the song should have. I listened to some other covers that didn't have that problem, but this guy used the velocity sensitivity to build up the chorus in a way that I liked a lot. I've been trying to find a growl-y industrial cover, because I think it could work brilliantly, but the closest I've found is some generic techno shit.
