Bob Dylan - Positively 4th Street

You got a lotta nerve

To say you are my friend

When I was down

You just stood there grinning

You got a lotta nerve

To say you got a helping hand to lend

You just want to be on

The side that's winning

You say I let you down

You know it's not like that

If you're so hurt

Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith

But that's not where it's at

You had no faith to lose

And you know it

I know the reason

That you talk behind my back

I used to be among the crowd

You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool

To think I'd make contact

With the one who tries to hide

What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street

You always act surprised

You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"

But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me

You'd rather see me paralyzed

Why don't you just come out once

And scream it

No, I do not feel that good

When I see the heartbreaks you embrace

If I was a master thief

Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied

With your position and your place

Don't you understand

It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

And just for that one moment

I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time

You could stand inside my shoes

You'd know what a drag it is

To see you...

Bob Dylan - Hurricane

8 minutes of brilliance by a man of brilliance...

Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night

Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall.

She sees the bartender in a pool of blood,

Cries out, "My God, they killed them all!"

Here comes the story of the Hurricane,

The man the authorities came to blame

For somethin' that he never done.

Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been

The champion of the world.

Three bodies lyin' there does Patty see

And another man named Bello, movin' around mysteriously.

"I didn't do it," he says, and he throws up his hands

"I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand.

I saw them leavin'," he says, and he stops

"One of us had better call up the cops."

And so Patty calls the cops

And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin'

In the hot New Jersey night.

Meanwhile, far away in another part of town

Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around.

Number one contender for the middleweight crown

Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down

When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road

Just like the time before and the time before that.

In Paterson that's just the way things go.

If you're black you might as well not show up on the street

'Less you wanna draw the heat.

Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops.

Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin' around

He said, "I saw two men runnin' out, they looked like middleweights

They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates."

And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head.

Cop said, "Wait a minute, boys, this one's not dead"

So they took him to the infirmary

And though this man could hardly see

They told him that he could identify the guilty men.

Four in the mornin' and they haul Rubin in,

Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs.

The wounded man looks up through his one dyin' eye

Says, "Wha'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!"

Yes, here's the story of the Hurricane,

The man the authorities came to blame

For somethin' that he never done.

Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been

The champion of the world.

Four months later, the ghettos are in flame,

Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name

While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game

And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame.

"Remember that murder that happened in a bar?"

"Remember you said you saw the getaway car?"

"You think you'd like to play ball with the law?"

"Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin' that night?"

"Don't forget that you are white."

Arthur Dexter Bradley said, "I'm really not sure."

Cops said, "A poor boy like you could use a break

We got you for the motel job and we're talkin' to your friend Bello

Now you don't wanta have to go back to jail, be a nice fellow.

You'll be doin' society a favor.

That sonofabitch is brave and gettin' braver.

We want to put his ass in stir

We want to pin this triple murder on him

He ain't no Gentleman Jim."

Rubin could take a man out with just one punch

But he never did like to talk about it all that much.

It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay

And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way

Up to some paradise

Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice

And ride a horse along a trail.

But then they took him to the jailhouse

Where they try to turn a man into a mouse.

All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance

The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance.

The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums

To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum

And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger.

No one doubted that he pulled the trigger.

And though they could not produce the gun,

The D.A. said he was the one who did the deed

And the all-white jury agreed.

Rubin Carter was falsely tried.

The crime was murder "one," guess who testified?

Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied

And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride.

How can the life of such a man

Be in the palm of some fool's hand?

To see him obviously framed

Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land

Where justice is a game.

Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties

Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise

While Rubin sits like Buddha in a ten-foot cell

An innocent man in a living hell.

Yes, that's the story of the Hurricane,

But it won't be over till they clear his name

And give him back the time he's done.

Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been

The champion of the world.

Pull Me Under by Dream Theater

My favorite DT song. And perhaps one the best metal songs I've heard.

Lost in the sky

Clouds roll by and I roll with them

Arrows fly

Seas increase and then fall again

This world is spinning around me

This world is spinning without me

Every day sends future to past

Every breath leaves one less to my last

Watch the sparrow falling

Gives new meaning to it all

If not today nor yet tomorrow then some other day

Ill take seven lives for one

And then my only fathers son

As sure as I ever did love him

I am not afraid

This world is spinning around me

The whole world keeps spinning around me

All life is future to past

Every breath leaves me one less to my last

Pull me under pull me under

Pull me under Im not afraid

All that I feel in honor and spite

All I can do is set it right

Dust fills my eyes

Clouds roll by and I roll with them

Centuries cry

Orders fly and I fall again

This world is spinning inside me

The whole world is spinning inside of me

Every day sends future to past

Every step brings me closer to my last

Pull me under pull me under

Pull me under Im not afraid

Living my life too much in in the sun

Only until your will is done

Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden

In my eyes

Indisposed

In disguise

As no one knows

Hides the face

Lies the snake

The sun

In my disgrace

Boiling heat

Summer stench

neath the black

The sky looks dead

Call my name

Through the cream

And Ill hear you

Scream again

Black hole sun

Wont you come

And wash away the rain

Black hole sun

Wont you come

Wont you come

Stuttering

Cold and damp

Steal the warm wind

Tired friend

Times are gone

For honest men

And sometimes

Far too long

For snakes

In my shoes

A walking sleep

And my youth

I pray to keep

Heaven send

Hell away

No one sings

Like you

Anymore

Hang my head

Drown my fear

Till you all just

Disappear

Gotta get in on the scene hun?

Got ya hair in a haircut

You gotta fill up the dream

You got ya finger on the pulse babe

You got your rock n roll on?

You wanna screw driver too now

I hear they're fun on

You got it all this side up

But you ain't got it down

Push the pedal now

Activate your sweet voice babe

Let your world come out

You get ya head off the chopping block

And get ya ouija board out

You got ya rubber on a pencil

In case you make a mistake

I hope you got it all down babe

You got it all this side up

But you ain't got it down

Push the pedal now

Push the pedal now

You got it all this side up

But you ain't got it down

Push the pedal now

You got it all this side up

But you ain't got it

Push

Why does it always rain on me - Travis

I cant sleep tonight

Everybody saying everythings alright

Still I cant close my eyes

Im seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights

Sunny days

Where have you gone?

I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?

Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?

Why does it always rain on me?

Even when the sun is shining

I cant avoid the lightning

I cant stand myself

Im being held up by invisible men

Still life on a shelf when

I got my mind on something else

Sunny days

Where have you gone?

I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?

Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?

Why does it always rain on me?

Even when the sun is shining

I cant avoid the lightning

Oh, where did the blue skies go?

And why is it raining so?

Its so cold

I cant sleep tonight

Everybody saying everythings alright

Still I cant close my eyes

Im seeing a tunnel at the end of all these lights

Sunny days

Where have you gone?

I get the strangest feeling you belong

Why does it always rain on me?

Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?

Why does it always rain on me?

Even when the sun is shining

I cant avoid the lightning

Oh, where did the blue skies go?

And why is it raining so?

Its so cold

Why does it always rain on me?

Why does it always rain...

Impression that I get

Great Ska song!

Have you ever been close to tragedy

Or been close to folks who have

Have you ever felt a pain so powerful

So heavy you collapse

Ive never had to knock on wood

But I know someone who has

Which makes me wonder if I could

It makes me wonder if

Ive never had to knock on wood

And Im glad I havent yet

Because Im sure it isnt good

Thats the impression that I get

Have you ever had the odds stacked up so high

You need a strength most dont possess

Or has it ever come down to do or die

Youve got to rise above the rest

Ive never had to knock on wood

But I know someone who has

Which makes me wonder if I could

It makes me wonder if

Ive never had to knock on wood

And Im glad I havent yet

Because Im sure it isnt good

Thats the impression that I get

Im not a coward,

Ive just never been tested

Id like to think that if I was,

I would pass

Look at the tested and think there but for the grace go

I might be a cowards,

Im afraid of what I might find out

Ive never had to knock on wood

But I know someone who has

Which makes me wonder if I could

It makes me wonder if

Ive never had to knock on wood

And Im glad I havent yet

Because Im sure it isnt good

Thats the impression that I get

USA Nails by THE BLOOD BROTHERS

This is a piece of hardcore/screamo/lot's of yelling kids playing pretty cool guitars.

Fingers: 1-900-USA-NAILS

Prisoner: "operator I love you.

Operator, I would never leave you...

Operator I love to see your face pressed up against the glass.

I need to hear the way your tongue tastes in my ear..."

Operator: "Put the receiver to your chest

and let me know who loves you best."

Prisoner: "The county sheriff said that my baby is dead.

They found him in some trash can, blue all clenched and chewed.

Don't judge me, I'm not his real mother,

I couldn't even recognize his face, his tears of wax,

his skin like a subway running over spinal tracks.

Operator can I confide you?

They haven't got an ounce of proof!

Those pigs locked me up to see what color i'd rot into!

(It wasn't me it was my false tiger limbs..

It wasn't me it was the garbage gryphon!)

When i walk i wald alone (operator come on!),

when I watch you through the phone (operator come on)

and depupil these lonely eyes,

the love scenes grafted to the sky are making me cry...

1-900-USA-NAILS (oh baby)

I get one phone call a day from Molson County jail...

Operator: 1-900-USA-NAILS.

98 cents per minute cash or credit, check or debit...

(noticeable pause)

Prisoner: Operator-rator wont you tell me again!

Operator-rator yeah you're my only friend!

Operator: "Do you remember that night in the back of daddy's car...

strumming the chords of your pubic guitar...

the way you tasted like a movie star...

the way the windsheild reflected the sunrise,

the way the light tattooed your thighs...

You're the most beautiful girl in the whole wide world...

your time is up, till next time! We'll send you a bill."

Prisoner: Listen....

can you hear the buildings crumbling in slow motion?

Blow me up like a balloon we'll float over the ocean!

Listen...can you hear them taking me away,

don't tell the fucking guards what i've said.

Can you see the angels stringing wires through my face?

Operator: Meet me next week, same time, same place.

Verse Chorus Verse (aka "Everything and Nothing") by Nirvana

And if you save yourself

You will make him happy

He'll keep you in a jar

And you'll think you're happy

He'll give you breathing holes

And you'll think you're happy

He'll cover you with dust

And you'll think you're happy now

You're in a laundry room

You're in a laundry room

The clue that came to you, oh

And if you guard yourself

You will think you're happy

He'll keep you in a jar

Then you'll make him happy

He'll give you breathing holes

Then you'll think you're happy

He'll cover you with dust

Then you'll think you're happy now

You're in a laundry room

You're in a laundry room

The clue that came to you, oh

You're in a laundry room

You're in a laundry room

The clue that came to you, oh

And if you fool yourself

You will make him happy

He'll keep you in a jar

Then you'll think you're happy

He'll give you breathing holes

Then you will seem happy

You'll wallow in the shit

Then you'll think you're happy now

You're in a laundry room

You're in a laundry room

You're in a laundry room

The clue that came to you, oh

Janes Addiction - Just Because

If I were you

I'd better watch out

When was the last time

You did anything not for me, or anyone else

Just because, just because

You! oh, you really should have known

Hey you, you really should have known

Just because, just because

You got the nerves

But nobody loves you

Nobody hurts you

Just because, just because

You! oh you really should have known

Hey you! I think you really should have known

Just because, just because

Oooh!

Oh! better watch out!

When we first met

And we passed around juice

That was a long time ago

And you're still the same

And you! oh you really should have known!

Yeah! you, oh you really should have known

Just because, just because

DEF LEPPARD

"When Love And Hate Collide"

You could have a change of heart, if you would only change your mind

Instead of slamming down the phone girl, for the hundredth time

I got your number on my wall, but I ain't gonna make that call

When divided we stand baby, united we fall

Got the time got a chance gonna make it

Got my hands on your heart gonna take it

All I know I can't fight this flame

You could have a change of heart, if you would only change your mind

Cause I'm crazy 'bout you baby, time after time

Without you

One night alone Is like a year without you baby

Do you have a heart of stone

Without you

Can't stop the hurt inside

When love and hate collide

I don't wanna fight no more, I don't know what we're fighting for

When we treat each other baby, like an act of war

I could tell a million lies and it would come as no surprise

When the truth is like a stranger, hits you right between the eyes

There's a time and a place and a reason

And I know I got a love to believe in

All I know got to win this time

You could have a change of heart, if you would only change your mind

Cause I'm crazy 'bout you baby...Crazy...Crazy

Without you

One night alone

Is like a year without you baby

Do you have a heart of stone

Without you

One night alone

Is like a year without you baby

If you have a heart at all

Without you

Can't stop the hurt inside

When love and hate collide

Megadeth - Kill the king

Broken down, feeling naked

Leaving me unfulfilled

Promising compromise

Championing mediocrity

Time and time again

What you said ain't what you mean

Even if all my bones are broken

I will drag myself back from the edge to

Kill the King, The King is dead, Long live the King

Kill the King, The King is dead, Long live the King,

I am the King, God save the King

Kill the King, The King is dead

I am the King, Long live the King

Kill the King, The King is dead

I am the King, Long live the King

I reveal a deceiver

In the highest seat in the land

His idle hands the Devil's workshop

Generate more smoke than heat

Time and time again

What you said ain't what you mean

Even if all my bones are broken

I will drag myself back from the edge to

Kill the King, The King is dead, Long live the King

Kill the King, The King is dead, Long live the King,

I am the King, God save the King

Kill the King, The King is dead

I am the King, Long live the King

Kill the King, The King is dead

I am the King, Long live the King

A new precedent in pain, a new precedent in pain

Mankind is blown to dust, mankind is blown to dust

An explosion of the Brain, an explosion of the Brain

Spontaneously combust, spontaneously combust

Kill the King, The King is dead, Long live the King,

I am the King

Kill the King, I, The King is dead, I am, Long live the King,

I am the King

Kill the King, I, The King is dead, I am, Long live the King,

I am the King

Kill the King, I, The King is dead, I am, Long live the King,

I am the King

[skin + Faithfulness]

Faithfulness

Distracts me from my ever changing

Tastefulness

My mouth upon the richest tongues

I run for this

Static at the same time by it all

Common sense

Can slap me in the face

And yet I calm disent

Embarrassed by your obvious

Indifference

Disgusted at the same time by it all

Watching as my ego breaks your fall

Don't you know that I've

Been running from you heart

And I feel like you've been running too

Don't you know that I've

been lying from the start

And I feel like you've been lying too.

Leave you now

Can't convince myself

That you're the one somehow

To free me from this smile

I call my loneliness

Stuck inside this need to feel complete

Now I've left you standing on your feet

Don't you know that I've been

running from you heart

And I feel like you've been running too

Don't you know that I've been

lying from the start

And I feel like you've been

lying too.

Faithfulness is just a little rule

We break

Still pretending lust was just a fool

we faked, we made

Don't you know that I've been

running from you heart

And I feel like you've been running too

Don't you know that I've been

lying from the start

And I feel like you've been

lying too.

Rebellion (lies) - The Arcade Fire

Sleeping is giving in,

no matter what the time is.

Sleeping is giving in,

so lift those heavy eyelids.

People say that you'll die

faster than without water.

But we know it's just a lie,

scare your son, scare your daughter.

People say that your dreams

are the only things that save ya.

Come on baby in our dreams,

we can live our misbehavior.

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Every time you close your eyes

Every time you close your eyes

Every time you close your eyes

People try and hide the night

underneath the covers.

People try and hide the light

underneath the covers.

Come on hide your lovers

underneath the covers,

come on hide your lovers

underneath the covers.

Hidin' from your brothers

underneath the covers,

come on hide your lovers

underneath the covers.

People say let's just die

faster than without water,

but we know it's just a lie,

scare your son, scare your daughter,

Scare your son, scare your daughter.

Scare your son, scare your daughter.

Now here's the sun, it's alright!

(Lies, lies!)

Now here's the moon, it's alright!

(Lies, lies!)

Now here's the sun, it's alright!

(Lies, lies!)

Now here's the moon it's alright

(Lies, lies!)

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Lies, lies!

Every time you close your eyes

Every time you close your eyes

Rebellion (lies) - The Arcade Fire

...such a GOOD FUCKING SONG! I love it so muchhhh.

And now, for some Bowie:

[David Bowie + Slow Burn]

Here shall we live in this terrible town

Where the price for our eyes shall squeeze them tight like a fist

And the walls shall have eyes

And the doors shall have ears

But we'll dance in the dark

And they'll play with our lives

Like a slow burn

Leading us on and on and on

Like a slow burn

Turning us round and round and round

But who are we

So small in times such as these

Slow Burn

Slow Burn

Oh, these are the days

These are the strangest of all

These are the nights

These are the darkest to fall

But who knows?

Echoes in tenement halls

Who knows?

Though the years snare them all

Like a Slow Burn

Leading us on and on and on

Like a Slow Burn

Twirling us round and round and upside down

There's fear overhead

There's fear overground

Slow Burn

Slow Burn

Like a Slow Burn

Leading us on and on and on

Like a Slow Burn

Turning us round and round and round

And here are we

At the center of it all

Slow Burn

Slow Burn

Slow Burn

Black Jesus by Everlast

They call me white devil, black jesus

Heaven closes, hell freezes

Egos trippin, scripts keep flippin

Bloods keep bloodin, crips keep crippin

Time keeps slippin and I keep fallin

I cant see but I hear them callin, ballers ballin

Players playin, haters fightin, righteous prayin

Dont forget manhattan keep makin, brooklyn keep takin

Shook ones keep shakin, no time for fakin

Know what I mean, I aint choppin no bars just risin like cream

If you diggin the scene, you feelin the vibe

Throw your hands in the air, scream are you alive

Singin na, na, na, na, na, na x4

They call me black jesus, white moses

Heaven freezes, hell closes

B-boy posin, punk rock chicks, kids are alright but I need my fix

If you diggin the mix, feelin the drugs, if you keepin it real

If you livin like thugs, I spit kisses and hugs like forty five slugs

Come back on the run and kiss my love gun

Got a look thatll kill, voice thatll carry

Half a dozen women that think I want a marry

I got trouble on my mind, Im refusin to lose

But still I got a find someone to abuse, Im gonna run spread the news

Help say the word, jump the fuck back and just act like you heard

(chorus)

They call me white devil, black jesus

Heaven closes, hell freezes

Black jesus, white moses

Heaven freezes, hell closes

Singin na, na, na, na, na, na x5

They call me white sinner, black martyr, live wire

Fire starter, jungle brother, red neck cracker, freak of nature

New world slacker, sex junkie lookin for a dealer

You can play the leper girl and I can play the healer

Shit is only gettin realer, baby havent you heard

That the bird, bird, bird, yes the bird is the word

It go one for the trebble, two for the times, and three for my homies and four for the dimes

Singin lemons to the limes to the break of dawn

Excuse me (six minutes) everlast you on

And it go on and on like a rolling stone, baby, anywhere I lay my hat is my home

(chorus)

They call me white devil, black jesus

Heaven closes, hell freezes

Black jesus, white moses

Heaven freezes, hell closes

Singin na, na, na, na, na, na x18

PIZZA DAY BY THE AQUABATS!

Well I remember my first day at public school

I was very scared of getting pummeled

And sure enough I did at first recess

I got pegged in the head by a big red ball

It stung and my head hung

Back to class with a bloody nose

And soon it was lunchtime

Mom said I should ask about how poor kids can get fed

So I got a book of tickets and a schedule and it read:

Monday - Hot Dog, Tuesday - Taco

Wednesday - Hamburgers and Chocolate Milk

Thursday - Sloppy Joes and burritos in a bag

Friday was Pizza Day, the best day of the week

All the kids would line up super early just to eat

Monday - Hot Dog, Tuesday - Taco

Wednesday - Hamburgers and Chocolate Milk

Thursday - Sloppy Joes and burritos in a bag

Friday was Pizza Day, the best day of the week

It always came with salad and a side of cold green beans

Hooray for Pizza Day

Hooray for Pizza Day

I miss Pizza Day

The best day of the week

Well, I remember my first day in Jr. High

I had hairspray in my hair

And my pants were way too tight

And all the breakers and new wavers

And the rockers and the preps

Would all be in their places

On the front lawn or the steps

I hung out with some punker kids

Who used to make me laugh

I got thrown in the dumpster

By some rich kids near the caf?

As time went on we figured out

It was totally uncool

To eat the welfare lunch

Provided by the school

So in poser-punker fashion

We just mooched off all the kids

And lived off eating candy bars

And bags of nacho chips

Monday - Hot Dog, Tuesday - Taco

Wednesday - Hamburgers and Chocolate Milk

Thursday - Sloppy Joes and burritos in a bag

Friday was Pizza Day, the best day of the week

It always came with salad and a side of cold green beans

Hooray for Pizza Day

Hooray for Pizza Day

I miss Pizza Day

The best day of the week

Well now I'm out of school

And I don't have a job

(You're a slob!)

I just sit around all sweaty and lethargic

And I'm just thinking 'bout where it all went wrong

Why I can't concentrate

On anything but reruns

I wish I had some more stability

I wish I had somebody making lunch for me

I guess I miss the seventh grades in life

The thought of Pizza Day

I thought it was stupid then

But I wish I had it now

I miss my
