Iambaytor Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I can't even watch the Linkara reviews, it's one of those things that you just can't believe was actually allowed to happen. The same guy wrote part of the Ultimate universe called Ultimate Human, when I was reading the entire Ultimate universe I read 3 pages of it and said "fuck it." Quote
Keth Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Wanted to read something a little different this week, so I picked up Bendis' Moon Knight run, well the first 6 issues of that anyway (Ultron's head, hallucinating heroes.) Pretty cool stuff so far. Gotta pick up the rest of that story, but I can see why some of you guys talk him up so much. Quote
the division of joy Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Just about finished the first volume of The Incal. Shit's strange and weird futuristic in a Transmet kinda way. Its just lacking something to bring it to a similar level in terms of plot and delivery. That said, I'm really digging it regardless. Quote
Jables Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Is anyone else reading All New X-men(Original five in modern tiemz) and struck by how progressive but foul-mouthed the original five x-men were? Aside from Bendis' lazy approach to dialogue it's a decent book. I look forward to seeing where they take it. Quote
The NZA Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 yes and yes, we're lucky they're not saying tuchas or chutzpah or whatever other words he loves in powers Quote
Thrizzle Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I've been reading it, in the hopes that they eventually do some drastic shit with them. At this point though, barring the Franklin Richards Paradox, the teenage X-Men are from the early 90's (despite their retro hairdos). Quote
Keth Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Was in Barnes and Noble earlier and managed to Re-read "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader" while I was there. I think I've decided that's my favorite Bat story yet. Quote
Visitant Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Picked up the first 3 books of Thanos rising. I love the character but they really are beating it into the reader that he pretty much does it all for the pussy. It's not even subtle. Also Origin or Hordak, see he man thread for thoughts. Quote
Iambaytor Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 In Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos literally killed everyone for pussy. He has never been subtle. Quote
Keth Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Picked up the first volume of a book a while ago called X'ed Out by Charles Burns. Weird little book about..... I don't really know, but I like it. Anybody read this? Loggins? Quote
Thrizzle Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Yeah, I read it. And got a signed copy of Vol. 2 (The Hive) on release day. If it doesn't make sense it's because it's only a part of the story, or maybe I only think that because I had the benefit of having Charles Burns explain it for an hour. Also: Tintin. Quote
Keth Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I recently read Nemesis, and I was having fun with it until the last couple of pages. Didn't have a good payoff at all to me. Quote
Keth Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Wytches #1 Tooth and Claw #1 Both nice strong first issues. Looks like some fun books. Quote
Visitant Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I am working on getting back into reading, now that we have a good comic shop near us. Picked up Death of Wolverine: Deadpool and Captain America which was better than I thought it would be, Deadpool art of War, which was not so good, Superior Iron Man which I thought was awesome and the final volume of Locke and Key which made me sad because it's finally over. I'm trying to figure out where I want to go next to play catch up. I ordered Hawkeye #2 (trade) and was thinking about maybe trying out Infinity or AvX. Maybe Fear Itself? I'm wondering which big Marvel Events i've missed out on since Civil War burned me (and my wallet) so hard. Also maybe trying out Inhumans. I haven't read much DC since new 52 started (Animal Man was amazing) and I was wondering if any plots from that have held up at all. Thoughts? Quote
The NZA Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 skip/wiki both AvX & Fear Itself (as well as most recent crossovers) Marvel - Daredevil's still fantastic, Uncanny/New Avengers, Spidey 2099 DC - Batman (Snyder) Other - TMNT and Ghostbusters are both a lotta fun, IDW is knocking those outta the park for me. Saga, Zero, Wythches, Mignolaverse (Abe Sapien, Baltimore, BPRD etc) and that's pretty much my pull list Quote
The NZA Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 ...pretty much so that's how Namor makes it out...no idea what to make of Cabal + evil Ultimate FF reed, but we haven't seen where DOOM went, Strange's crew, who's really causing this, etc...shit's crazy Quote
Newtype Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 ...pretty much so that's how Namor makes it out...no idea what to make of Cabal + evil Ultimate FF reed, but we haven't seen where DOOM went, Strange's crew, who's really causing this, etc...shit's crazy Throw in the Ivory Kings and shit is getting ugly. Newtype Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 New Avengers #30 We finally learn what killed the living tribunal. Quote
Iambaytor Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 So I don't know if anyone is checking out the S.H.I.E.L.D. book, but Agent Coulson is Marvel's Batman. Quote
