I'll try and download at least one of them at the weekend, but I'm one of the people who doesn't like the Beatles (some good songs, a lot of good pop songs but not really great music, just my opinion tho), so don't be surprised if I don't like em, I'll give them a fair go tho.

Anywhere to hear Prodigy online or is it only being played on that old fangled 'radio' thingy?

As for ATDI :afro: , Relationship of Command is a great album, but so is In/Casino/Out (full album), and I've DLed most of the 7-track mini album Vaya, great songs there too. Gonna DL the rest of Vaya and try and download the 7 tracks of El Gran Orgo. And I'll be buying the only other full album I don't have(Acrobatic Tenement, as above) this week.

Honestly I have to say I regard them as one of the most consistent bands ever in my opinion, haven't heard a song by them I haven't liked. When I burn you a CD will I put on what I have by them?  :approve:

My comparison of Rush to Beatles was in the difficulty of picking just one song to recommend to someone. Anyway. I was thinking about this the other day. I've always heard people say (in Rush circles anyway) that Rush's song, 'In the Mood', was a Lynyrd Skynyrd rip-off (the song 'What's Your Name' in particular). I never disagreed with this because, frankly, they sound almost exactly the same. I did some research based on a whim and 'What's Your Name' was released in late 1977 on 'Street Survivors' and 'In The Mood' was released in early 1974 on the self-titled 'Rush' (that part I already knew), before Lynyrd Skynyrd first album even debuted. Plus, Rush is from Canada and Lynyrd Skynyrd is from Alamaba, making it highly unlikely that Rush could have even copied the 'Skynyrd' sound. If you don't believe me on the songs sounding the same, download them both (or just 'In the Mood' if you already have 'What's Your Name'). After listening to them both, and knowing there was over 3 years between their respective releases, see for yourself if you think Skynyrd copied from Rush. I'd particularly like to hear from IC on this one.

Oddly, the most recent albums I've bought are old albums, there's not many good albums out at the moment. I'm not a great fan of Moby's music, he has some good songs but I think he's been overhyped. I'd like to get BDB but the fact it's a soundtrack album has me dubious.

Firstly i know what your saying KOS, when i was in town the other day i picked up (among new releases) Stranglers, Buzzcocks & Jeff Beck LP's! I also agree a little bit with what your saying about Moby. Fortunately, i managed to see him in a really small venue in Edinburgh and had the Play album a small while before it all kicked off! The new album was obviously never gonna live up to 'Play', but it's not too bad. In saying that BDB's new LP blows it out the water! Just 'cause it's a soundtrack shouldn't put you off ( think Monsieur David Holmes, Air, Walter Carlos for example! ). Honestly mate, if you liked The 'Bewilderbeast' album, you will not be dissapointed!

There is 20 tracks on the disc, a small example...

The Kinks - 'God's Children'...

DJ Shadow - 'Dark Days'...

Peter Cook & Dudley Moore -'Bedazzled'...

Ennio Morricone -'A Fistful Of Dollars'...

Not bad for £3.30!

Oh yeah JMT, didn't get DLing any Rush at the weekend but I was in a record shop and I saw they had Rush - 'Vapor Trails' so I bought it...

I've given it a good listen today and I have to say I'm not keen on their music. I am being over critical I know, but I thought the songs didn't go anywhere and were overlong at 5-6 mins each. The lyrics were fairly wanky too. Don't know why so many people have issues with Geddy Lee's voice though, the vocals sounded grand.

Told you I'd probably not like it, I'm gonna get a refund tomorrow. ???

Vapor Trails isn't there best album by far. I'm just so glad to see them back in the studio making music after 6 years (far and away their longest hiatus). As a Rush fanatic, I like the album, but it's no comparision to some of their better stuff (1976's 2112, 1978's Hemishperes, 1981's Moving Pictures, 1989's Presto, 1993's Counterparts to name a few). Of the new album I really like One Little Victory, How It Is, Nocturne, Freeze (Part IV of 'Fear'), Sweet Miracle and Ghost Rider. I like them all really, but nothing I'm as enthusiastic about yet, but I'm hearing something new everytime I listen to them. Can't say I agree even slightly about your comment on the lyrics, but I'll leave it alone. I was nice to hear a non Rush-enthusiast say somethign nice about Geddy's vocals though. Bitch bitch bitch is all I ever hear about his voice! Anyway, I'd be disappointed if you didn't look into their older catalouge, but I appriciate you putting in the effort you did.

New DJ Shadow LP out on June 3rd KOS, just got the new single which was released yesterday, If the 12" i got is anything like the new album it's gonna be kinda different from 'Endtroducing', but not in a bad way! Also does anyone else here have Cut Chemist & DJ Shadows 'Brainfreeze'? It's a mix of 7 inches they put together and came out about a year or two ago now. Be aware though, it is usually expensive, even on CD, but well worth having nevertheless!

I know you've all be DYING to know, so for your information: Rush's Vapor Trails debuted at #6 on the Billboard 200. Pretty good since tons of people have never heard of them, and of those who have, 99% of the time they are unaware that they are still together and recording music. I hope they move up the chart, but only time will tell that.

I'm fairly sure that Eminem produced the Marshall Mathers LP but Dre produced this one (and presumably wrote the music). It's worth a go, especially to hear 'Hailie's Song' where Eminem sings! Or you could just DL that, but most the rest of the album is mustard.

Two questions: 1) By 'sings', do you mean instead of rapping? And 2) Is 'mustard' old world slang for good or bad? Is it like the word 'shit' over here where if something is shit, that means bad (and by 'bad' I mean bad), but if something is THE shit, that means it bad (and by 'bad' I mean good)? Basically, by saying the rest of the album is mustard, do you mean it's good?
