Jables
HA! Saw it before you all!!! I can't believe it came out over her before there(pesky time difference, eh?). I seem to remember there being a week's buffer between the U.S release & Oz release for the previous two. I guess the theory is preolly to combat cammers yeah? It would've been hard for it to suck, what with all the events, but i thought it was okay to pretty cool.

The NZA
So..that was fun; best of the original trilogy, no doubt (i keep thinkin any kid watchin them in order's gonna be like "why do the graphics suck after 3?"). Thoughts... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « was good, and i liked how they tried to get some motive behind Anikin's inevitable move, some thought behind it and all. But after the fucked-up scene with Mace, wasnt Ani's change of heart pretty goddamn quick? One minute its "we must uphold jedi rule!" to "yes, my new master." Jax also pointed out that in the later movies, were told Anikin hunted down & wiped out the jedi. While he took out those kids in another fucked-up scene, it was really plan 66 that did them all in, no? Fuckin jedi didnt see shit comin, thats what ya get. Anyway, i gotta say: the animated "Clone Wars" sure setup Grevious as a bigger badass than the movie did, he was a complete bitch there. Also, Kenobi was the highlight amonst some spotty acting (did Portman even try?), and he looked pretty spot-on for Alec Mcguiness by the end, i think. On the plus side, the drama got milked as expected, but the final fight was as hearbreakin as id hoped for, and Kenobi's words after that were about the most genuine thing id heard in the whole trilogy; junker pointed out the stoic, emotionless jedi before, really gave an impact there, i think. So yeah, other than a few qualms, really enjoyable fanboy shit, makes me wanna go see the original trilogy again too. Good to know Luke gets his bitch-like genes from his old man. Thanks again to Jax for hookin it up. What'd the rest of you guys think?
Jables
Yeah, that Skywalker gene's got more whine per cubic mil than an Italian. Gimme a thought tho folks, ArNah's in the unique postion of having never seen a Star Wars movie(she asked what the odds of an Episode IV were of being made-BWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-Ain't she cute?), so I'm wondering whether to show her the movies sequentially or as everyone else has seen'em... It'd be an interesting perspective to say the least. But then one of the big secrets of the original Trilogy would be shot down straight up... Desicions decisions... King of Snake
Best of the prequels but... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Anakin's turn is way too quick, first he's hesitant to intervene when Mace is gonna strike down Palpatine, then even after Palpatine wastes an unarmed Mace he doesn't even stop for a 'wait a minute, is he just a bastard, have i picked the wrong side?' moment, he's all 'yesss, master!' straight off. And Palpatine's face when it changed during that scene was just ridiculous, I've seen better make up on a bad episode of Buffy...and when Anakin was kneeling I just thought he was gonna say 'now suck my cock!' a la Team America. How does Yoda get so wizened? Sure he's a bit beat up from his fight with Palpatine but he was still spritely enough to drop into Jimmy Smits's car (which I must add a flying hot-rod convertible is not the best choice of vehicle for an inconspicuous getaway), he's hundreds of years old but in 20-30 years from III to V he's lost that crazy jumping ability? If he was really fucked up I'd understand. I thought the Anakin-catching-fire was good in a way, I knew lava would be involved in his later appearance but at least it explained why his face is still intact, but honestly, Obi-Wan, what a bastard! You have a virtually limbless Anakin and you wait for him to burn? You don't take him into custody, this, as mentioned earlier, should be the Jedi way? Was this not a form of vengeance for what Anakin had done and therefore dark side, considering Anakin saved him at the start he at least owed him that... But Obi-Wan was the only sucess. I dont get how Mace looked like he coulda beat Palpatine, unless emprorer was holdin back or something. Because Yoda - who couldnt take Dooko last movie - also couldnt finish the job with the emporer, and did indeed fail. so...yoda > dooko > anakin, emporer > mace > anakin? odd. How's a guy who got made a jedi by going outside the rules gonna bitch at Mace when he needs to break code a lil to handle shit, much less take that cheapshot? Ani wasnt just a whiny bitch, he was a punk. "My momma died and so might my chick...i want to get powerful enough to stop people i care about from dying, so im gonna do that by joining a death cult and killing everything i come in contact with." You know what? idve bought the change if the incentive was better than just being a horrible tool for a dream about his chick. Said fanboy pointed 2 ways i think idve gone better with this: 1) Jedis find out about his relationship with padme, and expel him from the team. Now, he buys into Palpatine's garbage about plots and assasination, feein Ani that whole "they fear your power" cockstrokery. 2) Since she's basically useless as soon as the babies are born, why not have her give birth eariler, Yoda hide thme or some shit, and she gets killed by Sith who frame Mace, or better yet, Obi-wan? Actually losin his chick, that i could really accept for pushing him over the edge; not him second-guessin every authorative jedi, but not bein able to bow down quick enough to the most sinister motherfucker he's come across, with the dumbest hustle ive heard - "yeah, were all about death, but we can keep your loved ones alive too, siths are known for caring deeply about family." Anyway, just some points. To finish this off in true Comic-book-guy form, why does Leia say she remembers her real mom, to Luke in the old trilogy? she dont remember shit! Signal08
I feel late in the game here... I saw it sunday. I thought it was a good movie...But I didn't think it was a great movie. Hayden Christensen or whatever his name is... I don't think he is that great of an actor. He clearly over acts when he is 'evil' once he gets the dark side in him, I cringed at his every line. He sounded like a cross between a drunk Keanu Reeves and the emporer in 'The Last Samuri'....or something... I think Obi Wan had the worst one liners too, "oooo safe landing ooo hehehe I'm a master jedi, great googily moogily" I don't quite get how Yoda can kick your ass and my ass without breaking a sweat... but needs his cane to walk? General Grevious... all of his moving body parts are mechanical, so there is no need for him to be panting at the end of every run that he does. And DAYUM... doesnt Nataile portmans lips make you want to slap your piece on her??? I know it isnt just me...and yes you straight nympho ladies out there would let her eat you out, don't lie. IS it me, or did the emporer take out those backup jedi's like they were nothing when Sammy Jackson showed up to arrest him?...but of course Sammy Jackson can fend him off for a little bit...why? because hes a bad ass mother fucker BITCH! I liked the movie, thought it finally put alot of loose ends into place, but I also thing it jumped around way too much. It was an above average movie non the less. . He sounded like a cross between a drunk Keanu Reeves and the emporer in 'The Last Samuri'....or something... Christensen is not a bad actor. He's actually a pretty good actor (check out Life As A House or Shattered Glass) and I wish these movies weren't giving him such a bad reputation when the likes of Keanu Reeves and Paul Walker and Orlando Bloom are still getting starring roles. Christensen is only a bad actor in Star Wars movies. As is Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman and Jimmy Smits and Liam Neeson and every other flesh-and-blood character on screen. Hell, it takes a real special kind of talent to make a Samuel L Jackson performance boring, and Lucas has it. When an ensemble of normally-great performers puts on such a bad performance I'm inclined to believe that the fault probably isn't with them. The NZA
I cant see viable arguement against Alec, tho its quite far from his best.
