King of Snake
Rach asked this on Isa's question thread but I think it's worth a thread of it's own. What would be the soundtrack to your life? Here's the template: Opening credits:Waking up: Average day: First date: Falling in love: Love scene: Fight scene: Breaking up: Getting back together: Secret love: Life's okay: Mental breakdown: Driving: Learning a lesson: Deep thought: Flashback: Partying: Happy dance: Regreting: Long night alone: Death scene: Closing credits: I'm gonna post up mine when i've given it some thought, everyone should feel free to post half or even quarter lists while they're working out the others, the worst'd be to not getting round to posting anything just 'cause you haven't got round to finishing it off... MetalHeart
Oh goodness! This is always so hard. In the past I've thought time and time again, erased and rewrote, but still I can't find just the right answers. Like I qouted to you in direct IM, I'm very happy and amazed that Isa-darling did it. I can't wait to submit my answers... once I finally find something that is suitable, heh.

Silent Bob
I usually hate doing these because it shows my often completely unoriginal taste in music, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Opening credits: Edwin McCain - Beautiful LifeWaking up: Aerosmith - What Kinda Love Are You On? Average day: Hoobastank - Right Before Your Eyes First date: Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down Falling in love: Howie Day - Collide Love scene: The Cult - Painted on my Heart Fight scene: Stroke 9 - Kick Some Ass Breaking up: Def Leppard - Long Long Way to Go Getting back together: Billy Joel - You May Be Right Secret love: Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter Life's okay: Rob Thomas - Streetcorner Symphony Mental breakdown: Tapping the Vein - Hurricane Driving: Bob Seger - Roll Me Away Learning a lesson: Alanis Morisette - You Live Deep thought: John Lennon - Working Class Hero Flashback: Green Day - Whatsername Partying: Lustra - Scotty Doesn't Know Happy dance: Ozzy Osbourne - Shot in the Dark Regretting: Simple Plan - Perfect Long night alone: Radiohead - Creep Death scene: Rob Thomas - Now Comes the Night Closing credits: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man That was bloody hard. Not only did I try to find songs that'd fit me, but I also tried to make sure they weren't too obvious (in most cases), and that they're the type of song that can easily be edited into a movie scene without seeming intrusive. Maybe I thought about it too much, but I could definitely edit scenes around these songs. Edited May 30, 2005 by Silent Bob

King of Snake
Might take you up on that...from the ones i know, a damn fine list, KOS!Halcyon + on + on i was gonna use, mebbe not for breakdown, but...im inspired to give my own, but itll take a wee bit. Anyway, cool thread. Well the song was inspired by the Hartnoll Brothers' mother's depression caused by taken the tranquilizer Halcion, kinda like Valium but with moodier side effects, I guess that's why I chose it. I always think the vocals all looped over each other feel like a fragmentation of a conciousness losing cohesion. As it is though I'm going to have a reshuffle anyway after listening to them all again in order so Halcyon's up for grabs again... Waking up: "Fast As You Can" Fiona Apple Love scene: "Let's Get It On" Marvin Gaye Secret love: "Lullaby" The Cure Life's okay: "It's My Life" No Doubt Flashback: "Pale Shelter" Tears for Fears Regreting: "The Show Must Go On" Queen Happy dance: "Woo Hoo" The 5, 6, 7, 8's Closing credits: "Brown Eyed Girl" Van Morrison Hrm...harder than I thought...I wonder if these songs even make sense! Some excellent choices, they do make sense to me, don't know all the songs though... Waking up: Kid for today - Boards of CanadaDeep thought: A beautiful place out in the country - Boards of Canada First date: Nanou 2 - Aphex Twin Secret love: Rebellion (Lies) - The Arcade Fire Breaking up: Useless - Depeche Mode Death scene: Ohne Dich - Rammstein Highlighted these few: Didn't know you liked Boards of Canada asides from the Fat Pie link, if you ever need/want Geogaddi I have it on my PC. Plus you out Aphex-ed me, where's Nanou 2 from? Nanou's on the Windowlicker single so if you need a trade I got that. I think I can see why you picked Arcade Fire, the whole 'hide your lovers underneath the covers'? Honestly I was considering Useless for 'Breaking up' too! Twins, huh? Good call on the 'Stein, only a few weeks till we're over to Berlin to see em! Oo, MH is adding categories - no fair. Well it was her idea to bring it to the board, before I thought to make a thread. I don't mind extra categories going in, anyone who wants can add or replace topics if they want. Plus feel free to edit your choices as you go, maybe just put the old choices as strikethrus so people can see your old choices.

You Black Emperor - Sleep The Stranglers - Always The Sun Death scene: Eels - Last Stop This Town Closing credits: Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence I thought of those Orbital tracks for 'Driving' cause of the WipeOut series of games of which each of those have either been in or linked to, 'Orbital - Funny Break (One is Enough) Plump DJs Remix' from Wipeout Fusion and 'Sasha - Xpander' from Wip3out marginally miss out. The NZA
Me too, tho the scene they roughly used for it leaves me thinking more along the lines of "betrayl" than "death" but its a fine song for either event. I just couldnt bring myself to be enough of a wank to choose the obvious James Horner-esque epic death track.
