The generous Good Samaritan, knowing that he owes nothing to this man, whom in all his retchedness, is the very personification of the decay of western society, reaches into his pocket and from it pulls out a fresh, crisp, new ten dollar bill. As he places in firmly into the foul-smelling pauperize's open palm, he hears the mendicant speak these words from his bruised and bloody, black lips: $10, eh... Ten dollars. Bill Gates makea this much money in the time it takes light to travel the legnth of his cock in a vacuum. It takes me over ninety minutes to make that much money after taxes. With the ten dollars I make in that time, I could buy 14 soft tacos from Taco Bell. With the ninety less minutes I'd have to work if I didn't give you that ten dollars, I could watch a movie. The point being: I don't appreciate offering someone ten dollars when they are begging for money and hear them show even the slightest sign of anything but gratitude. I gave ten dollars to a lukemenia fundation a few months ago. They need millions of dollars to fund even the most futile research programs. You know what they told me when I agreed to donate ten dollars? I've give you a clue. It wasn't: $10, eh... Honestly, we're you raised as a Saudi prince? See, like i said, Yahven cringes at new groups, for whatever reason. Benny's got one....Benny also laid down a chunk, more than either of us, and he lives within our means as well, dorms, part time job, classes etc - he went above & beyond, so Yahven had to make the exception. KOS & SOF are tossin in a bit as well, and last i checked, theyre not daddy war bucks either. I'm not at all pissin on the ten bucks, as i said thats all i could toss in, and its very much appreciated. Truth be told, Yahven prolly dont figure it enough to change a member group/title, but i figured it's enough for the one anyway. Had to consider it (hence the "eh..", cmon you cant actually hear tone on the internet, it was pensive by god) and figured no, its not a terrible amount, but youre within our means & donatin the same amount, so its actually really cool of ya. JunkerSeed tossed in a fiver yesterday, ya think we mocked him? Remember, there's over 150 people here (yes, yes many many trolls too) and a very small handful donatin. Got nothin but gratitude for those that do. ....but seein as im now in "SOF's pocket" (christ, howd that happen?) i cant pass the helm of admin over, even if it was $100. I thought the reward/gratitude was the new board and your own spot on it, if ya want a certificate and a warm, hearty slap on the ass, feel free to ask Yahven & Im sure he'll comply. In conclusion....(you fuckin wank, i grew up poor! ), sincerely, thank you very much Jack, it means the world to us, and we'll keep our heads above water that much longer 'cause of your genorosity. ...tho you might notice some folks got off free: certain chicks got their own groups just for sleepin with us admins, so the question is: just how bad do you want that member title? It's just sometimes I have a really cool one and it pisses me off to see it go away (like my "bear is driving, how can that be!"). What logical reason does Yahve have against more /group/title names by the way. the titles and group don't mean anything, so what's your malfunction, Yahve? The NZA Posted June 4, 2002 Share Posted June 4, 2002 Ok, some updates: donations received from many, especially the high post # folks, and theyre all much appreciated...ill put the bar up here when the graphic's updated. Meantime...just in case you folks wanted a sneek preview of what the forum's capable of (mind you, theirs is huge & uncostumized, just showin for the options/incredible speed it runs at), check out their main page, Invisionboard. Very much like our board; same programmer created both, only theirs is faster & better customer service. Im researchin it now to ensure our posts, post #, general customization etc transfer over, but Yahven assures me were gonna try to back this thing up on the big day just in case, so fear not. The board'll prolly be shut down for a day or so, but ill do my damndest to make sure everything transfers right over & some of the new customizations get tried out. I figure the option to "skin" each forum (use a background for each; ie, go in the movie section and there's a picture of De Niro in the background...cool huh?) will be up to us & the forum moderators for suggestions, but i think the new speed & options will only make this place that much better. Im also researching hacks for it for even more options, some surprises onna way if i can pull em off (well, me & our techie sir Yahven, god knows i cant code shit). Just gonna keep tryin to make shit cooler in the meantime. Honestly, thanks again to all the generous souls who've donated & helped out so far. Just in case the old graphic doesnt update, here's where we stand right now: Woo hoo! Doin good people, almost halfway there, and the donations im told are on the way should leave us damn close to completion (Jumbie, ill spot for you, just send it when ya can). Further donations will of course go to the followin 6 months server fees in hopes of not havin to grovel/whore out again like this, but seriously, good job people, youre a great fuckin crowd. In any event, if it doesnt show I've decided to front the money to Yahven so we can finally upgrade the board when's he's got a chance to do so, might have him bring his PC over here to share our DSL connection to make it easier.
