didnt know where else to put this, but "The Human Centipede" is looking to be...something.

"Outside the more outré work of Takashi Miike and David Cronenberg, you won’t have seen anything quite like Dutch avant-garde artist Tom Six’s totally bizarre off-the-wall oddity. Internationally respected Siamese twin surgeon Dr. Josef Heiter has a demented vision for mankind’s future existence. He wants to remove human beings’ kneecaps so they have to exist on all fours and then surgically graft them mouth-to-anus to form a centipede chain. When two stranded female Americans arrive at his luxury home-cum-hospital looking for help, his long-gestating plan swiftly moves into chilling action with a shocking force. Kidnapping a third Japanese male tourist, he begins the tissue matches, teeth removal, and buttock moulding to create his triplet creature… The First Sequence in Six’s intended trilogy features truly unforgettable imagery, clinically dazzling direction, and a so-far-round-the-bend mad doctor performance from German superstar Dieter Laser you’ll scream. Behold the grotesque New Flesh. If you dare!"

Awwwww man, I was really looking forward to that one. The trailers did a damn good job of freaking me out. That's upsetting news enough, but I'd feel even more jipped if I didn't even have the internet. I get that it's basically standard by now, but still, it is like a slap in the face to those that don't happen to have it.

NZA, you're saying they cut off a good ending with a phrase to check it out ONLINE??? You have no idea how upsetting that sounds to me. These kinds of flicks are my favorite!

It sounds just as upsetting as The Last Exorcism. I was thoroughly disappointed in that one.

A lot of horror movies in the past years have been horrible. Hell the last american horror film I actually enjoyed and was freaked out by was "Event Horizon" and that came out in the late 90's. It just seems like ever since Blair Witch and then Paranomal Activity horror films have just been getting worse and worse. Plus if a horror movie is rated anything other than R I don't even look twice.

Cathy - yeah that's what ive been hearing, at least opening day - no idea if it was an early release thing or what?

morti - true, but a hard R might mean you're getting Hostel or some torture-porn which might not be what you had in mind, no?

i dug 1408, really liked The Mist.

Martyrs wins the crown for me. God, I loved that movie. Other horror films I've enjoyed lately, off the top of my head: May, Let the Right One In, Pan's Labyrinth, Frontier(s), The Devil's backbone, Feast, The Devil's Rejects, Behind the mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, The Host, Splinter, [REC], High Tension, Audition, Dawn of the Dead.

There's some good shit out there. Well, shit I like anyway.

But...y'know, I think all of those are rated "R"...so I failed to make a real point.

fuck, good calls, forgot so much shit without LL around.

Martyrs stuck with me for days afterwards, that ending was just...fuck.

+ let the right one in (let me in was even better), pan's, devil's backbone, REC, Audtion, Dawn, Splinter

eh - Frontiers, Feast (had its moments), Host (i recall it being longer than id wanted).

Well I guess I should check out Martyrs. I like a lot of Jap and Korean horror flicks of late, I was just mainly talking about "hollywood" horror films.

Devil's Rejects and Pan's Labyrinth I don't really consider "horror" films, though I can see why others would, but they were both good movies as well. Didn't really scare me or freak me out or anything though.

Laid to Rest was great (the sequel was alright), Malevolence, A Serbian Film (if you can get through it), The Last House on the Left, Daybreakers, The Hills Have Eyes, 30 Days of Night, Monsters, Pig Hunt, Chaw, The Hills Run Red, Doghouse, The Last Exorcism, Night of the Demons. This has been a pretty good decade for horror.

And then there's the movies that were made for me, CJ, Logan and no-one else: Feast, The Taint, Chillerama, and Piranha 3-D.

You need to get around to it as soon as possible, it's been on my hard drive for almost a year and I feel nothing but shame for that. I made it 20-minutes in before I had to run into the livingroom and make CJ watch it with me, if you still lived in the same complex I would've come bust down your door and made you watch it too.

It is fucking amazing, the best indie horror movie ever, I stand by this assertion. Never has a movie this cheap and horribly uncouth had opening credits this awesome:
