Reverend Jax
No, cant say i did....guess i oughta? Never heard of it, sell it more. I "sold" it to you months ago! You said it was next on your "to download" list! Anyway, as a guy who doesn't like much hip-hop (there's nothing wrong with the genre, it's just alot of what I hear it talentless garage, but there is talent out there), Sage Francis, particularly these two songs, has really caught my attention. He's underground, completely non-mainstream. I was introduced to his music by a friend. Really takes that Poetry-Slam ideal of super personal and emotional lyrics a puts it to great beats and melody (something I feel is not often enough emphasized) that compliment the lyrics and sampling that helps tell the story. Great hip-hop that will satidfy non-fans of the genre. Check the songs out. Again, that's Makeshift Patriot and Inherited Scars by Sage Francis. Athena
Ok, just because these songs are rollin about in my head so much lately: "Warning Sign" , Coldplay, album - A Rush of Blood to the Head Quite frankly anything you get from Coldplay will be a musical treat. "Black and Blue" "Miami" "Good Time" ---- all three from Hard Candy by Counting Crows the last song off the self-titled Dirty Vegas album. Can't remember the name right now. mysterytramp
I recommend Damien Rice. His album came out here last year in Ireland and I have been listening to it ever since. He's now starting to get recognised in the US, he was on Letterman recently, he's on Conan tonight. Go here to download Mp3s: http://www.freecfm.com/d/damien/mp3.html I recommend the tracks Eskimo (if only for Lisa Hannigans vocals), Volcano, The Professor, then any other one because they're all great. Oh and I forgot about Amie, Lisa Hannigan features prominently on that one aswell. Edited July 22, 2003 by mysterytramp

deacon
Right, im gonna pimp a few unsigned Irish bands who I genuinely believe are worth a listen. If it aint a direct link just go straight to the music or mp3 section. If punk is your fortay then give 20 Bulls Each a listen. AWOL is particularly good. www.20bullseach.com Rock your cup of tea then give Underhill a listen. Eleven or Witness are my picks. www.underhilll.tk Any fans of Mr.Bungle influenced music should give Mike Got Spiked a listen. 5 Second Heaven or Speechless are my picks here. www.mikegotspiked.com Want somethig a bit heavier then give X-Constant(metalcore) or The 8th Day a bash. Theres a few tracks of X-C but I'd recommend World Of Pain or Re-Aligning To The Sun. www.xconstant.com If your into hardcore(glassjaw,finch,100 reasons), then give Kelsey a bash. Theres only two songs( Halo and Malibu) up and both are worth it. www.kelseymp3.tk Finally if your into a heavier rock with some crazy guitar goin down check out Skyjack. Best track here is Craving. Fantastic stuff. www.mp3.com/skyjack Give em a chance if you have the time, tell us what you think and ill pass it on some how. If you know any good unsigned bands in your locale, pimp them here. Everyone needs a hand in the oul music business

JunkerSeed
"Baby, I'm an Anarchist" and "What we worked for" by against me These guys are the coolest band ever. They almost remind me of Operation Ivy. Definate must download. "Through the best of times, Through the worst of times, Through Nixon and through Bush, Do you remember '36? We went our seperate ways. You fought for Stalin. I fought for freedom. You believe in authority. I believe in myself. I'm a molotov cocktail. You're Dom Perignon. Baby, what's that confused look in your eyes? What I'm trying to say is that I burn down buildings While you sit on a shelf inside of them. You call the cops On the looters and piethrowers. They call it class war, I call it co-conspirators. 'Cause baby, I'm an anarchist, You're a spineless liberal. We marched together for the eight-hour day And held hands in the streets of Seattle, But when it came time to throw bricks Through that Starbucks window, You left me all alone... all alone..."
