LL's on a roll with horror, for me.

This one's brought to you by the director of "Dog Soldiers", a low-budget werewolf movie i never got to finish. Anyway, its about a group of adventurous girls going cave-diving roughly 2 miles below the earth's surface; the first hour (character bits aside) deals more with the claustraphobic angle, as tunnels narrow and breath gets short - if youve a fear of such, there's scenes that might be hard to watch, and not for gore like youd expect, just the psychologoical angle, which i thought was an interesting one.

Naturally, something goes horribly wrong when a race of cannibalistic subhumans is found to have an entire colony/hive down below, and when the munching begins, its gore and screaming and a race to find a way out. Though i believe my copy was especially dark (its not a well-lit cave, but i had a hard time keeping up with which chick i was seeing, personally).

The whole thing's shot in the UK, apparently, and accents kinda come and go, and for a group of women, there's no titties to be seen, breaking that cliche (which, seeing this Natalie Mendoza chick, is a shame). The Washington Post has a more detailed review, though much of it just praises the director's break from other cliches.

Anyway, again, if you dont think you can stomach the combination of claustraphobia-exlpoitive shots & cave-ins, running from flesh-eating base neanderthals and a lack of teets, this might not be the thing for you, but otherwise, its a better horor film than ive seen since, uh, Darkness.

Cj and I saw this last week. We both really liked it but Alan (Stillbored) had mixed feelings on it. I thought it was good because the women had some smarts and reacted the best way I would have or anyone else would in that situation. Be sure to go to YouTube to watch the "alternate ending" (I put that in qoutations because it's really just an extension of it). I give it a 7-8 outta 10 Metal Hearts.

Yeah I recommend this movie, a much better horror movie than Dog Soldiers (which was more about fun anyway). To get the full effect you're going to have to see it in the cinema. It's loud, it's dark it's claustrophobic and ( the version I saw anyway) completely depressing.

Nick says it was too dark when he saw it, but we all know he don't pay for tickets less he has too, the great thing about the movie is that it doesn't cheat on lighting if the characters can't see something with their available light, you can't see it. And I love how feeble the monsters were, the sound of their heads getting smashed in is sickening, and they die alarmingly easily too, slain by nothing more than pickaxes, but like zombies their strength is in numbers.

This movie wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it cuz it scared me a bit. The fucking creatures were so groooosss! Ah! The idea of going down an unknown cave for the sake of thrill isn’t too bad. But when you have a leader whose only purpose is egotistical, that sucked.

Good points

* The creatures were horribly gross and scary. I think that when I first saw them, I jumped a couple of feet away from the screen, injuring myself a little cuz I'm so damn clumsy.

* The gore was decent for a low budget film.

* Claustrophobic angle of the film was done rather well. Hell I was freaking out just looking at those chicks struggling.

Negative points:

* I think some of the characters were useless,

* The ending was a bit confusing.

* That Juang chick (the leader) was treated pretty harshly, I think. Her friend judged her way too quick.

Over all it's a pretty entertaining movie and it'll definitely spook you.

this film was out here late last year/early this year, went to see it, i thought it was a fairly decent concept but i really was let down by the fact they showed off the monster too early in the film, it kinda made it more predictable from then on... id give it a 6.5 outta 10... Good, but not great

I think that if they showed the creature a less instead of throughout the film... it would have been creeper... because what's more scary than knowing somethings there... but you don't konw what it is exactly.

That's why I think that Fragile's monster was wayyyyy scary. She only came out less than twice during the movie and then at the ending... (rushing towards you!) Good stuff that movie.

ah... a girl who knows what horror should be about... much kudos for that... i admit, it was a Touch creepy at times, but they really gave away too much too early, its like going on a date with someone and 5 minutes in you whip out your cock, too much too early....

it seemed it was a lot earlier than that.... to be honest, at that its still somewhat early, they could've made it more intense if they had have held out more, but thats just my opinion anyway... as i said, it was a good film, i wouldnt mind seeing it again
