I have to agree with Fatal Frame 1/2. Absolutely terrifying. I couldn't play it myself and it was all I could do to watch the hubby play it. Now, the Suffering was great. A real mind fuck. Ties That Bind, didn't impress. The action was better, improved, but the story left alot to be desired.

Yeah? i was curious bout The Suffering myself. Manhunt, is that the one where you go aorund town doing what awful shit youre told to appease somebody, or am i thinkin of another game?

fuck, i still want to play Fatal Frame, i read part 2 was up there with Silent Hill in terms of scaryiness. Good thread.

Shadowman rocked. That's one game that my husband and I both agreed on. I finished the first though I still haven't finished the second for PS2. But maybe this weekend...

And IC, definitely play Fatal Frame. The story lines are mysterious at first and kinda lacking at the end. The usual good vs. evil but something went wrong kinda thing, but the effects and game play more than make up for it. Besides, the heroines are cute! And I'm telling you, creepy, creepy.

I'm sure most of you all know, I'm a Silent Hill nut, and have devoted enough of my time to the subject that I understand most of the plot. I played the first Fatale frame(aka project zero, a name that has nothing to do with the game, but that's what it's known as in Europe), and it's the goods, the characters seemed a little bit cartoon at first, and the idea of catching ghosts with a camera seemed one notch away from Luigi's Mansion at first, but once I got to play it I was pleasantly surprised and slightly unnerved.

you got an awesome deal on RE4, man. Outbreak looks cool, but i hear loading time's a nightmare without the hard drive...lemme know if that's true or not.

Also, SH4 is worth it.

also, FDB - tell me bout that one, never heard of it.

You're on the moon. Site of a shuttle crash. And you don't know shit. Except you ain't dead and there are ghosts everywhere. Through cutscenes and conversations with other ghosts you learn that the strange fog inhabiting the space station make the ghosts evil and destructive. They can't really harm you but they scare the shit out of you and your hear rate goes up thus causing death. Anyways, you have to run around and vent the fog and help the ghosts finish their tasks so that they will leave in order to progress the story line. The atmosphere is creepier than hell. Fog, ghosts, all alone, etc. The camera controls are a bit irritating and the need for batteries for your stupid headlamp can be nerve wracking, but the story is worht it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I have yet to unlock the other two endings. There's one more ghost I have to save and its a bitch so I dropped it for a bit. I might go back to it... I would recommend this if you can pick it up for twenty bucks or less at EB or GameStop, or you might rent it.

Well, i finally got Echo Night, The Suffering, and Fatal Frame 2, with Manhunt onna way. Played about 20 minutes of all 3 so far, and Fatal Frame 2 is first on the list, feels like an awesome japanese horror film. Echo Night's got an interesting plot; props again to FDB or id never've know bout it.

The Suffering's weirder than i thought, Sen got more into it but it looks cool (anyone played it through?) and we'll see bout Manhunt. Any more recommendations while im still renting?

the two system shock games were great, but for me, oddly enough the scariest game ive played is resident evil 2... there was something about being 10/11 and playing it...

i always needed a spare pair of underwear around though... those licker bastards put the shits up me
