MusicManiac Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Well, Football started on Thursday (Miami vs. Pitt.) with today being the Season Opener for the rest of the league. I, for one, am excited. I thought that we could have a Fantasy Football game here for the football enthusists for fun or what not and have imported a Football picks game and revamped the rules a little to keep them simple and fun. So here we are below, the rules for the Hondo's Hotpicks Game® Starting Next Week- -Rules for the Hondo's Hotpicks® NFL pool - -It is time to get the pool started. Each player will start with 25 points since we missed the Pitt-28 vs. Mia-17 game on Thursday, September 7, 2006 and today's matchups. So every one starts with 25 points. The first pick sheet will be available in this thread weekly starting on Tuesday after Monday Night's game and the picks are due by midnight before kickoff of the first game of that week-(Saturday for Sunday etc.) Rules 1. Picks are due by midnight before kickoff of the first game of that week. No picks will count if submitted after that time. 2. You must pick a hotpick each week. 3. Penalty for not choosing a hotpick is taking your highest losing hotpick for that week. 4. Penalty for not turning in your picks for the week is taking an equal number of wins as the last place player for that particular week (can be negative). 5. You must have picked the highest hotpick for the week for the bonus points. 6. Changes can be made up to the deadline before game day. 7. The last pick sheet that you submit will be definitive. 8. Monday Night's Game will be worth double value points for choosing winner and score. _____________ Notes How the pool works: * It's simple. Choose the winners of all the NFL games for the week. Each week a picks sheet will be posted here. Make your selections and post your picks. I will total all the games and post weekly rankings. * You will receive one (1) point for every game you choose correctly. Plus, you will receive additional points if you pick your 'hotpick' game correctly. In most cases the game that is the closest in spread will have the highest hotpick points associated with it. In contrast the game with the greatest spread will generally have the lowest hotpick point value associated with it. You will be penalized by the hotpick value if you fail to pick the winner in your hotpick game. See example below for clarification. * All players will be required to pick a hotpick or I will impose the highest LOSING hotpick game as your choice. If a player fails to turn in his or her picks for the week they will be given an equal number of wins as the last place poolie player for that particular week. That number could be negative. * We will not factor in the Monday Night Football Game for hotpicks. This game will straight out wagering with 10 points awarded for picking thw winner of that game and doubled if the actual score is predicted within the points spread available for that game... that means that you could reap that game for 20 points in one swoop if picked right! Example- Take for example this sample weekly picksheet below. (I repeat this is only a test): 15-Denver - S. F. 14-Jack - Atl 13-KC - St. Lou 12-Oak - Arz 11-Cinn - Seat 10-Tamp - Jets 9-Chi - NO (if you were to choose this game it could increase or decrease your total wins by 9,) 8-Indy - Det 7-Phil - NE 6-Dal - Tenn 5-Balt - Buff 4-Car - Pitt 3-Min- SD (if you were to choose this game it could increase or decrease your total wins by 3) 2-Miami- Wash 1-GB Giants The hotpick value that you choose will be added (if you win your hotpick game) or subtracted (if you lose your hotpick game) from your total wins for the week. So in the example, if you decided to take Denver and they win, you would be awarded an extra 15 points. If Denver loses you would have 15 points subtracted from your total for the week. This could end up being a negative number and will be subtracted from your yearly total. Yay or Nay? We can start next week on week 2
