Break up the Pimp Hand into whatever respective forums those threads can go(ie hot chicks to a man forum), maybe have a links subforum, but for the most part put Hon(dos) on a greater stage, combining tech, non-gaming PC, gadgetry and whatnot. To address FC getting the man forum, it makes sense since 1) fuck all chicks post in FC thanks to DA8 and 2) the sports forum can suck my dong(thanks for the suggestion anyways, traitor DOJ). The NZA Posted February 4, 2009 Share Posted February 4, 2009 no modship till we nail down the place's purpose. i agree that pimp hand's slow these days, but its bascially old links and the pornhouse if were being honest. i dont see those crossing into a tech-talk/toys forum so easily, though one could eat the other as its sub-forum? i dunno. i do like consolidating, though. ps skeet - science came around last year. like culture, its not jumping, but its important enough to warrant its own house, i think. Are we now talking about adding a separate subforum to Hon(dos) to Nintendorks when the initial question was a separate Forum for all these things? If this thing really warrants expansion, I... I swear, I could swear that I put forth an idea that like, 10 people have agreed with. I'm not taking the piss, it's just, well here's how it is in my head: Question: We want a tech forum because somehow Hon(dos) can't handle more PC talk & Weird Science doesn't communicate Home Theatres. On a side note, Hon(dos) does so little traffic between Skeeter begging for help with Utorrent & Dr G talking about her Zune, that it is literally bursting at the seams. And I thought my response went something like:So you want to expand a forum that does fuck-all traffic because you feel it's too specific for tangents like Home Theatres & PC support & PC gaming? Well instead of creating a new forum, fucking up the outlay of the Hondos page* and having another main forum not get used? Why not combine it, or even just have it take over the Pimp Hand since 1) the Pimp hand does nothing except Hot Chicks now, and 2) The Pimp hand was originally designated as a links & netspeak forum, so it kinda(to me) makes sense. I'll admit my talk of a separate men's forum in FC to funnel the perve threads into confused a few people, so forget I mentioned that for the moment and let's focus on the task at hand, yes? *(admittedly a minor thing, I didn't even notice Weird Sci pop up but nonetheless, on a moderating note & also from an accessibility perspective? The more forums you create for the main page has gotta create more headaches for keeping track of, not to mention yes, choice is good, but even right now new people coming to the joint have next to no idea how to navigate this shit and no FAQ in the world will help with that, not to mention if Leaky Bucket or KOS were to rock up(the candles will one day work) they're not gonna recognise the place and that then discourages posting. The NZA Posted February 6, 2009 Share Posted February 6, 2009 still gotta mull this over: i see what skeet's saying, there's a common thread between PC/tech talk, and if we could just have pimp hand worked into there, we'd be killing 3 birds with one stone. mebbe Pimp Hand becomes the subby of the PC & tech-talk, if nothing else? and i know what youre saying about the new houses being cluttering after a while/less user-friendly at a glance, but truth is, we're active enough to warrant talk about large things like science, so if my options are 1) another ghetto subforum/land of the lost or 2) add to the place with one more tab that clearly says what lies within, im gonna have faith in the noobs.
