Thirteen players were ejected after a massive fight that brought both teams onto the field swinging, kicking, punching and doing just about anything else to inflict pain on the opponent. The Orange Bowl crowd of 51,130 even got into it as at least two fights erupted in the stands. WOW! I didn't think that game was going to be CRAZY! I'm kinda sorry I missed it now... The UM players ejected were cornerbacks Bruce Johnson and Carlos Armour, running back Charlie Jones, and offensive linemen Morse and Chris Barney. The FIU players ejected were receiver Chandler Williams, defensive backs Lionell Singleton, Marshall McDuffie and Chris Smith, fullback John Ellis, linebacker Mannie Wellington, tight end Samuel Smith and defensive end Jarvis Penerton. CjDucky Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 It was ugly... and pointless... a combined 31 players will be suspended at least one game for this.. and 2 are already suspended indefinately.. and one of the commentators who was a UM alumni has been fired for comments he made during the melee. Stupid jocks...just one more thing on a long list of embarrassments to UM
