BigChiefSlapaho Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Ok... so I'm at home last night & I turn my IE7 to www.hondosbar.com My Norton AV goes nuts. I get hit with 6 virus attacks. I thought perhaps my PC at home got hacked somehow since I leave it on all the time. So, I came to work and tried it out... SAME THING! I tried it with FireFox and nothing happened, must be an IE exploit. Nick, you really need to look into this. I know not many people go to the homepage anymore, but you must've been hacked or something. Call your hosting company and have them scan your page.
MetalHeart Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 ooooh that sucks.... definitely sounds fishy! I always love the art on the mainpage, but I never go to it anymore. PS I sent Nick a text message letting him know! so he can be all up on it when he gets on Hondos next
the division of joy Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 i got this too yesterday on my work computer, but it didn't happen today... but at home on firefox i didn't get anything... strange i didn't get it today, but im not complaining....
Jumbie Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Went to the mainpage 2 days ago to see wht our current logo looks like and I got a warning from my Norton that it had stopped a worm intrusion from some place with a russian sounding name. I thought it was from one of the other explorer windows I had open. I figured Hondo's was clean. Now that Eric's mentioned his problems, though, I realize we're not.
archangel Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Damn it, 2Track! You said you wore protection! j/k man. I'll try it out when I get to work.
MetalHeart Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Nick told me this morning that Invision was on it! so hopefully we'll find out what's up soon.
MusicManiac Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Fuckin Dante rears his ugly head again?
The NZA Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Yeah, invision gave me the heads-up - some fuck tried to hack us (again), they changed the FTP password we had but it looks like they got something in, should be handled now. as a precuation, this weekend i intend to: a) virus-scan the board b) lock down all other FTP access c) make another manual backup of this place now that it should be clean (our server automatcially keeps 48 hour and 1 week backups, just so everyone knows). it sucks, but as we gain noteriety/google hits, this also brings spammer armadas and the occassional dickhead.
archangel Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Sorry, 2Track. We all know Hondo's is your Pamela to your Borat.
Jumbie Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 So apparently this Virus made the board Canadian for (the Amerian holiday of) Thanksgiving?
The NZA Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Yeah, that was as close to a thanksgiving theme as i could find last minute...im a fan of easter eggs. time to whip up the ol' dante secular-end-of-the-year holiday page soon.
Jumbie Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Fuckin war on Xmas. Heathen! Why won't you acknowledge the Christian heritage of Hondo's?!
Lycaon Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Fuckin war on Xmas. Heathen! Why won't you acknowledge the Christian heritage of Hondo's?! Oppressor! Why won't you acknowledge the pagan heritage of Christmas?!
Ganny McVagflaps Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I'd celebrate Festivus but those NIGGAAHHHHHSSS in the balcony won't shut the fuck up. 30 years ago we'd a had them hung upside down...
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Everytime I've gone onto Hondo's for the last few days after I close down my browser I can't open it up again until I restart my computer. Every other site it works fine but Hondo's seems to fuck it up....anyone else getting this?
The NZA Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 IE, firefox? you virus scanned, checked for errors (scandisk) etc? mebbe you should delete your internet history/cookies. ive never had this. but then again, there was a point when my shit'd lock if i came into the suggestion box...weird errors.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Firefox, Virus scanned...etc. Maybe it's the FAQs fault.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I've been quite alot. My pants aren't bleeding.
MusicManiac Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Irish... I just crashed like a fucking meteor off that homepage again... any plans at fixin it?
The NZA Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 ...you sure that's not just you? Im at work and havent seen any notices yet....if others are getting this, please let me know. ill virus scan the board again but havent had any issues recnetly...might be cause the frontpage uses flash, if you havent isntalled that somehow.
MusicManiac Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I dunno.... duo processor... brand new set up here... but maybe.
The NZA Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Like i said, ill ask around, see if anyone else is getting this error - what happened specifically? dont forget, our hondo's tech support is always available.
