Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 So I'm guessing you saw 4 movies this year They'll go into the hat. The Descent was pretty sweet. Neil Marshall knows how to make a good horror flick.
the division of joy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 there wasn't that much that grabbed me cinema wise this year, saw a few, nothing really blew me away, cept from the above mentioned ones... the descent was very good, bar the ending, both versions of it... but clerks 2, thats probably some of smith's finest work... but i'd reccomend the illusionist to anyone...
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Clerks 2 Smith's finest work...
the division of joy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 no, i said it was some of his finest work, yes chasing amy is brilliant, but id rather anything clerks related over it... that animated series is brilliant... and in my opinion, his finest work.. consistant brilliance
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Did I see a different show that you did, or did you not see the show at all?
the division of joy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 what was there not to like about the animated series?
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 The Court Room episode and the Bad News Bears/Indiana Jones ones were good. The rest....meh.
the division of joy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 to each their own... i think the speed and delivery in the animated series is brilliant, and it has infinite quoting potential... but on smiths movies, im hard pressed to pick a winner between clerks, clerks 2 and mallrats.. they have two of the best characters in cinematic history between them.. randall and brodie...
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 If anything the animated series suffered from how slow it was.
Lycaon Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The Court Room episode and the Bad News Bears/Indiana Jones ones were good. The rest....meh. If anything the animated series suffered from how slow it was. Nothing can kill the Grimace! Honestly, I'm going to hold to my belief that it just wasn't really given a chance to get better. But yeah, there weren't a lot of really good episodes. For the episodes that were there, the most they have going for them overall are the quotes.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 So any more nominations or is When The Levees Broke gonna win everything by default?
the division of joy Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 hey, you can't discard the clerks 2 nominations in.. well.. everything
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 hey, you can't discard the clerks 2 nominations in.. well.. everything They'll be there.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Times tickin'...either there's no interest or it's gonna be a fight to the death between Clerks II and everything else from 2k6...
Lycaon Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I suggest we take this up at the begining of the new year. 2006 isn't over yet, and I still need to see some more movies.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 You can still throw in a few noms. I gotta beef mine up a bit too. Three of my four picks for best actress are underage. With all this when's Hermoine gonna be legal shit I'm feeling a little creepy. Thank God it's not 2003 'cause that bass-player from "School of Rock" woulda won everything. And with that let me chuck my laptop into the ocean before Chris Hansen comes knocking at my door.
Ganny McVagflaps Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 That Dateline guy that does "To Catch a Predator".
Jables Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 You can still throw in a few noms. I hear that. Work PCs are the best for that shit- communal harddrive as well as personal.
Jumbie Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Casino Royale finally made it to Guyana, but i'm out in the countryside and the it's showing 3 hours away. I won't be back in the city til next week. SHould be able to see it then. Cool stuff like Pan's Labyrinth, children of Man and other year end releases? No idea when I'll finally get to see them.
