The NZA Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 The Cable Guy as a horror film, i just easily dismiss. It was a comedy with a stalkerish theme that was slightly disturbing, but by the time jim carrey (2T's favoritest) is slamming a guy's head into the toilet to the theme of armstrong's "salt peanuts", there's no way i can take this as remotely a horror. Dirty Harry was a blatant anti-hero cop movie, prolly the epitome of such. To say its a horror cause he was taking down a seriel killer is like Discovery Channel calling Snakes on a fucking Plane a reptile documentary. What exactly are you referencing that's trying to genre-jump here?

To say its a horror cause he was taking down a seriel killer is like Discovery Channel calling Snakes on a fucking Plane a reptile documentary. What exactly are you referencing that's trying to genre-jump here? It was that stalkerish theme that makes it horror despite the humor aspect that makes it considered horror, the same with the Burbs. It's not that it's straight-up horror but that is part of it. Kind of like Takishi Miiki's films I mean Audition was a romance most of the way through, Ichi the Killer is a gangster film. As for Dirty Harry, it was the parts with Scorpio that landed it in the horror genre. It's no less-so than say Saw or Silence of the Lambs. Snakes on a Plane also is more action than horror but still falls into the genre. Now the ones that fall under horror that I will never fucking comprehend as long as I shall live would be Sin City or The Warriors. I found all this out on sites that review this shit and claim it is horror so whatever.
