archangel Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Am i the only one less than optimistic about this? Yes. Your pessimism here is quickly reaching Baytor level whenever Marvel has a new huge crossover. Quote
the division of joy Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Yes. Your pessimism here is quickly reaching Baytor level whenever Marvel has a new huge crossover. Uhm, i'm being real about it, other than the games si bob listed, how many great movie to game instances have there been. Quote
Silent Bob Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Yes. Your pessimism here is quickly reaching Baytor level whenever Marvel has a new huge crossover. To be fair, Baytor's pessimism about Marvel crossovers usually turns out to be right. Quote
Iambaytor Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Damn straight Um good movie to games: Chronicles of Riddick The Godfather The Thing The Great Escape Goldeneye From Russia With Love Evil Dead Hail to the King (yes it was fucking hard but try to tell me it wasn't scary and you didn't feel compelled to play it all the way through) Evil Dead Fistfull of Boomstick (A bit week but still a reasonably good tiem) Evil Dead Regeneration (Tons of fun when it wasn't busy being repetitive) Star Wars Bounty Hunter Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3 Indiana Jones and the Macguffin of Choice (I forget the actual title but it was a Lucasarts point-n-click) Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddlers Green Alien vs. Predator Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 Scarface The World is Yours The Lord of the Rings games The Warriors TRON 2.0 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Starship Troopers other than those, nothing. the division of joy Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Damn straight Um good movie to games: Chronicles of Riddick The Thing Goldeneye Alien vs. Predator I'll give you those, i've never played some of them, nor the godfather, but uh... Alien Vs. Predator, that was out before the films. Quote

Jables Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 SB- in all fairness, have you seen the promo shots for Honey the state took our Kids? I had my doubts but clearly the man is an artist.Oh, and Baytor, Hail to the king indeed, but those evil dead games sucked. Your love for Bruce Campbell is just more terminal than the rest've us.Off that list I'd agree with Goldeneye(ignoring the game itself is less remarkable than the standard-setting multi), Spidermans 1 & 2, and Godfathergodfathergodfather. I've said all along that GTAIV will be a poor man's godfather without racketeering, but I love it enough to look past that now. Godfather is flat out awesome though. No two ways about that. Quote

Admittedly the Evil Dead games are one notch above mediocre, but they're still no Street Fighter The Movie The Game Also I left Aladdin off of the kickass movies to games list. Quote
Jables Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 SHit, even the Lion King & Jungle Book were golden conversions. I miss 1992 when Disney & Sega could do no wrong... Quote
Iambaytor Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Oh and don't forget the Jurassic Park game for the Genesis where you had the option of playing as the raptor. Quote
Jables Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Oh man, I still have that! And damned it it isn't awesome! I've actually found rca leads for the genesis so I'l be able to dust it off again(busted RF looks like shit on my tv). Quote
Iambaytor Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Oh and Ross, take this at least, even if this game sucks more than Lindsay Lohan with a hoover vacuum in a black hole it will still be better than the one they had for the NES. Quote
the division of joy Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I'm not saying it'll suck, i'm just saying i'm not optimistic, and with good reason. Quote
Iambaytor Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I'm not saying it'll suck, i'm just saying i'm not optimistic, and with good reason. There's usually a lot more thought put into making a game based on an old movie than one that is coming out at roughly the same time. Quote
The NZA Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 True. I for one dug Stranglehold. Anyway, i think this one's looking to shut a lotta mouths soon; hands-on impressions of the game, again even at its current early build, have been very positive. The fact that the Wii's going with a cartoony one (i believe its a different game entirely) but i read that the DS can be used as PKE meter...shit, i might end up getting both versions. Quote
MetalHeart Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Aren't you just full of all the cool videos today? lol I cannot wait for this game!! Quote
Silent Bob Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 'S looking cool. I hope they put a lot more polish into those "destructible environments" because the physics still look pretty sloppy. Nick, I really enjoyed Stranglehold, too. I hope these guys are looking at that game to see how destructible environments are done right. Quote
Jables Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Fuck Yeah... That's just in time for m 6 month gaming purchase abstinence to finish too. Quote
The NZA Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 how can you not get excited about these screenshots? Quote
