I'm near positive they've recut that trailer. Originally, I think it had music and a slightly different pace (but practically all of the same footage) and it came off more as a typical summer blockbuster. You're right, it definitely does seem much darker now that they've pulled the music out.

I saw the trailer the last time I went to the movies. I thought it did seem pretty dark considering it was a child's show once upon a time...though, those of us who watched it are older, obviously so maybe that was their reasoning.

I hope its good.

Ok, I must be going crazy because I can't find a different version of the trailer anywhere. I'd swear I saw one with music... :welcome: Time for the medication, I guess.

Do you remember the origional Transformers movie? It was obviously for a slightly older audience I mean pretty much all of the Transformers from the origional series died in the first 30 minutes (Except the Dinobots cause they're baaaad motherfuckers) and they actually used cursewords, I had to rewind it just to make sure I heard right, when Ratchet and Spike are fleeing the second moon he says "Shit!" something that would never fly in a movie based on a kid's show now, Optimus and Ultra Magnus also seem to say "Dammit" throughout.

Well, remember.. alot of the people that used to watch it in the 80's as children are in their 30's now, so it's mainly aimed at them. I used to watch it in the early ninetees, I still have a few of the old movie VHS's. Spielberg is involved in this film, he approached Michael Bay for the directing role. Personally, I think he should have taken the lead chair for director, and I've not even seen the film yet to know that. After seeing the trailer though, I got to admit I am pretty hyped.

The fact that Steven Spielberg respects Michael Bay as a filmmaker just messes with the fabric of my reality.

Maybe Steve-O has caught a case of George Lucas disease.

No Director is a "Yes" man, they all have their own vision that they will go with whether the have to hide it or not. (See the infamous cow from the 90s Psycho remake)
